First off, here is a idea of what goes on via video, its a bit dated but there still is a chevette class running unstudded tires like you see here.

The races are currently suppose to happen at the track which is all ready built in Ferintosh Alberta, which is pretty much 100kms south of Sherwood park on highway 21.

Map can be found here.

Speedway Performance will be running 5 cars this year.

Car #1 - Fiat X19, powered by a CBR1100XX engine mounted in the Passanger seat. Driven by Brian Sinfield. I personally am expecting this car to take 1st place in limited stud this year in NASCC championship. The car took home 2nd place at the western canadian championship last year and came in 3rd in the NASCC alberta championship.

Car #93 - My Ice race / Rally , I don't expect much as its my first year driving but I do have 40whp over the 94 car so I better start thinking up excuses for not doing will now.

Car #94 - 91 Civic Si hatch a car we built and ran last year, the car took 10th in the western canadian championship in its first year with a rookie driver

Car#95 - 93 Civic DX hatchback, Driven by Matt Sinfield. This car took home 2nd in the rubber class last year and 3rd in rubber at the Western Candian finals. That was with the car only running a stock D15y7 engine. The car now has a b16a2 with custom tranny and ATS 2way LSD. I expect the car to be fast once we work on the setup a bit more. Many of you might remember the car from our track days last summer. It was loud, flat black and all beat up. the reason the body is in such bad shape is because of the racing it took part in last year. After this season the car will be thrown out and the drivetrain and suspension moved to a new shell to take up our road racing effort in 2008. It might even end up at the GP

Car#** - Lasty we have a 1st gen RX7 that will be driven by Vitor & Julian Pascoal. Both are experianced drivers with a lifetime of motorsports experiance. Some of you may have met Julian at our events, he is the guy that drives tfe Festarossa at autocross and lapping events. Last year Julian took home 3rd in the NASCC ice racing championship. They tried welding the diff on the car for the western canadian championship which hurt thier performance greatly. The changes ended up messing up the balance of the car and with limited adjustability in thier supension they were unable to make the car turn well.

Thats pretty much all the info I have for now, as of Wed. the ice still was not thick enough for us to race on so we have been pushed back to the 26/27 weekend for the on track session of the driving school and first race on the 27th.

Here are a couple pictures from last year.

Awesome, nice video footage. I've gotta get out to see this, but I'll be in Jasper next weekend. Post up when the next event is and I'll have to get out there.

I will be sure to let you know dave, maybe we can kidnap you and bring you along to get some pictures for us. :)

I went and saw that shit when I was about 10 with a friend of mine and his dad. Badass, one of the things that made me want to get a fast car someday :)

Great pics. Links. Vids

Do you have any idea what happened to Telford Lake this year?

I went hunting for a track but there's nothing plowed out on the lake this year, instead i found another track just east of Telford that someone did a really nice job on. Got up to 130k's in the Aud on the back stretch :D

The ice wasn't up to spec for racing at Telford sadly. But so far every race day has been canceled out in ferintosh anyway. This kind of delay actually hurts our team because the fact our cars work every time is a huge part of our hopes for the series. There are a lot of faster cars / drivers and the less races we have the better the chances of these guys having working cars for the few days we have left.

Dean if your not stuck working on the brakes on the civic all weekend we might be going out this weekend. I will give you a call friday night about it.

Well, if you can't beat them with speed, beat them with attendance. :p
