| Seeing as how it's 3:30am with nothing better to do, I was wondering how many people work shift work & how they like it. |

well I used to work 3-11:30pm shifts full time. until sept when I went back to school.. now I work part-time shift work.. which is pretty nice, Tues & Thurs 6-10pm and I still have my fulltime pay. As much as I HATE going to work i would be lucky to find a parttime job that pays good and only makes me work twice a week for 4hours lol.
im up right now due to projects due and such   ya ya no sleep woooooO@@@!!! |

| i don't seem to mind the shift work. My weekends sometimes fall on days during the week, then they rotate to actual weekends. Night shifts can suck, but you also get to do things during the day that you might not be able to get to do on the weekends. I've never done the 9-5 thing since I started working so I'm not feeling like I'm missing out on anything. |

| working shift work is alright. Best part is the days off. 6 on, 6 off  |

I work Mon-Fri 8:30-5pm, but tuesdays are 11:30-8:00pm.
I also pull a stint outside my "full time job" tuesday mornings 5:30am-8:00am
then I work on the side at all hours of the day. |

yet you still find time for 780 mike
i like my part time work, 2 shifts a week 6.5hrs and an 8hr. I really do enjoy it because for the 30 minutes of actual work that i have to do i get a great commission rate and for the other 6 or 7.5 hours i work i get a great pay of 14 and hour for a part-time position. After the commission is added on i typically come out making 16 an hour. I then sit on 780 for the rest of the day and post crap. |

Shift work sucks. I did it for many years. You miss out on a lot of things. If you have a family its definitly not what you want to be working. The only thing nice is the days off but I like being home at 4:15pm everyday and spending time with the kids. I get to do that everyday except weekends where I have all day with them.

right now for me shift work is ok. i work 6am-6pm and vise versa. nice thing is i work 5 on 5 off, so sure i get nothing done while im on my 5 days, but that 5 off is soo nice.
nights shifts are awesome, nobody around, so i can work on my car, or sleep, or watch a movie with the guys. |

| I work 3pm-1am Monday to Thursday. I hate it. Everyones all " oh you get fridays off every weekend? thats awesome!" But really, friday is basically a write-off cause im sleeping all day. And its not like you can fall asleep as soon as you get home from work cause you are still wide awake, so usually you're up for 3 or 4 more hours before you fall asleep. |

I work full time regular hours now. No more shift work for me.
Shift work usually sucks because there always has to be people there to cover a shift, whereas at most non-retail/non customer service places that run regular business hours, it's no big deal if someone isn't there on time or isn't there for a day.
At my work, as long as the project gets done before the deadline, we're good. I could work 2 hours one day and 14 hours another day if I wanted to, but it's usually good to be there during regular hours so others can communicate effectively with me. |

I have done it all..... and frankly shift work will take years off your life.... No money is worth what it does to you.
For the last 2-3 years I have typically been working 9-3, three to four days a week.... and I will never go back to shift work |

4 days on 4 days off. 10 hours "on car" 14 hours "on call". So 96 hours in a row I work.
Sometimes in those 96 hours I've done fuck all and sometimes I'll get no sleep. |

Even though I don't like the toll it makes on my body I love night shifts. |

yah nights is pretty fun. Lots of events happen that you could only experience at a night job. |

"Casual Work & Like It"
Although I hear about some of my buddies 6 days on/off shifts or similiar in Ft. Mac and it sounds a lot better then the 5-6 days a week 8-5 traditional job. |

I'm part-time and I usually am alright with how the shifts work out. Being in school if I don't get the shifts that work I can get fucked over though :(
Last summer I worked Monday to Wednesday at Jetco Mechanical in the warehouse (no one ever work there, k?) from 7-3:30 (with OT sometimes) and then worked (some of) the other days at Panago. Couple times I worked at Jetco then went to Panago. I would feel dead tired at Jetco and then turn around at Panago, it was awesome. Get quite a bit of money in one day. That was a nice summer. Too bad I blew a good amount on my computer and other stuff I shouldn't have (and not the car). Now I'm a supervisor at 2 different Panago's. At one I can basically pick and choose what shift(s) I want to work and at the other I get put on the schedule whenever fits in (which I'm usually good with). |

I do 7 to 7 shift work. The schedule is good but Im getting to not be a fan of the shift work. Nights are easy but as said previous they arent the best for you at all. I would rather do 10 hr day shifts and work a few more in a row and have no nights.
Hopefully this will be the means to do something I really like. |

I work shift work....7-7, 2 weeks on, 1 week off. First week is days, 2nd week is nights.

You know its a proven fact that shift workers have shorter life spans due to the fact that you are awake more of your life than a normal Mon-Fri 8 hour day guy. Just ask around if you don't believe me. I think its like 3-5years less or something along those lines.

Iv'e worked night shit for a whlie now but have worked almost every kinda shit there is, 6on3 off 6on4 off and the worst was 3night 4 day with some 8 hours before you begin the next shift change over BAH that sucked, then 23 on 3 off 18 on 6 off.
Night shit sucks but there's no way i am going to drive in the city or on the hiways during the day in the winter with a rig. |

| 7-7 12hrs, do a crazy rotation but end up getting every 2nd weekend fri-sun off. 1 month nights 1 month days, I like nights better though I can work all night on my car with no interuption. |
