Its always nice to hear a song played on a totally different instrument giving it a new spin. When I was in highschool, during a talent show, some girl played a bunch of rock songs on a harp. It was fucking sweet.

David Sides is another one to look at, Does the more pop/hip hop/ R&B but still amazing skill

When people change the songs like this its awesome! A whole new spin on things, plus the guy is super talented. This is the type of stuff that I should listen to while studying instead of the actual versions with lyrics (too distracting, but I hate complete silence)

EDIT: He has a well trained ear for only being 14.

AcuraNation
i definatly want this played at my funeral

Excellent... I forget the name of when you transcript rock/pop into piano music. I have a bunch of albums of stuff like this. Really good find :D
He's decent at playing... doesn't make too many mistakes.

I'm having trouble finding my CDs... grr.

Most of my CDs are from Japanese pop music. Sometimes such piano arrangements are offically released, but many are done 'under-the-table' by Chinese musicians and then unoffically released. I can give you some names for those, but its not usually something most people are interested in.

I'll see what I can dig up for names of good albums or artists. Maybe there are some people in the forum that know them off the top of their head.

There is also a top notch wind orchestra that specializes in doing transcritions and arrangements of popular music (Disney stuff, rock, pop, etc...). They are called the Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra but their music is very difficult to find without ordering it online.

After watching this I downloaded "Johny Got His Gun", the movie Metallica used in their video. Makes the song even better as it's based on this movie. The despair felt by the main character is depressing.

I didn't want to start a whole new thread but this version of Nothing Else Matters is pretty cool.
