Suggestions?

So far Von's on Gateway is my favorite, better than Ruth Chris imo, and alot less expensive.

Please dont say "Cook it yourself", or start talking about a steakhouse in L.A or Toronto.

i honestly think all steak houses suck.....sorry to say. but cooking at home is the "only way" to get the best steak in edmonton.

It's sooooooooooo good. I remember being totally stuffed but I still kept on demolishing my steak.

I was a classy lady that night.

i havent really been to very many top notch steak places.

but i found ric's grill was pretty good, but overpriced.
and the keg is really good to.

i worked there for a year, so new york strips at 40% off kept me going

You're no Sunny, that's for sure, but at least you have something to work towards!

I don't think anyone can ever be as classy as Sunny is.

Since she has entered my life, it has become my life goal to earn enough money to buy a Ford Extended Cab. That is the epitome of class right there.

Well... there this awsome place in TO that called the CourtHouse that has an amazing rib eye.... JK

My 2 cents

Von's off Whyte - one of my faves

Ruth Chris off Jasper - Over priced, good for cocktails and apps

Sawmill, Everywhere - Best prime rib and yorkshire

Moose Factory, South - good steak, great sunday brunch.

Hy's Loft, Downtown - Over priced and stuffy, small portions

Chop, West - Never been but I hear good things

Normands on Jasper - not a steak house, but great food!

Vic's at Mayfield - 20oz king rib eye is awsome!

Jacks grill at Lendrum - Over priced but the Filet is so good

Keg - decenent anyday of the week.

I think thats most of the steak places in town.

Hy's closed down fall of last year the owner decided it was time to retire and didn't feel like selling it to someone else.

the list above is pretty respectable I am certain that there is some small joints in this city that do a rather good job as well. Steak village in sherwood park can be great about on par with the keg for pricing.

As you can see, I love meat.

Mobius
Coliseum Steak and Pizza

Outback isn't bad, just gotta watch what you get, I got a steak once, very very tender... could cut it with a toothpick, but very bland. Last time I went it was actually really good.

Valentino's in WEM just north of Hooters... good prices, portions are smaller, price is decent, not as tender as outback, but very flavorful.

GT45
Ruth's Chris, so good. They actually import their own corn fed beef from the states. They only have 1 alberta steak on the menu. But that's why they're so expensive. Great steak, but I'd rather cook at home.

w8edmonton
i really dont know many of them, but "century grill" on calgary trail?

I'll throw Moxie's in the ring. I've always enjoyed the steaks there, and used to deliver to them, so I can attest to the quality of beef. It's 100% Alberta beef, and most Moxie's actually have the talent on the grill to cook them right.

I'm also a huge fan of The Keg.

jojodeci
coliseum steak is sweet

the keg is awesome i always get a steak or prime rib with a side of king grab mmmmm and a side of the sauce that is used for the prime rib if your having a steak.!!!!!!!

and they have a few hotties working there

bboybean
I dont eat alot of steak but have to give the Kegs my  , if I were ever in the mood for another greatass steak I would go there. Iv had collosium <sp?> before and it was awsome , but I hate going to that side of the city.

white99GT

Shit, I forgot they had Kobe beef... dinner time :D

gerrycurl
How much is the Kobe?

fugumerkur
Steak is good, but where in the hell in this city can you eat REALLY authentic mexican food. Hulios' barrio doesn't count, its just like all those americanized franchises.

Taco del mar is about as authentic as I have found.

Best steak is served at home from a barbecue with fresh charcoals!
Cooked your way and consumed with friends or family over a case of beer!
