Just a kind of feeler poll. How good are, or how satisfied (or unsatisfied) have you guys/gals been with the following independant investment firms (for handling mixed portfolios of RRSPs w/ mutuals funds and/or stocks):
- Investor's Group
- Raymond James
- Canadian Western
- AIG
-etc.
(feel free to list any others)
And how do you like them compared to some of the major banks in-house investment divisions? |

| I've found that the best advice/service I receive comes from an independant financial planner, not tainted by the larger franchise-type investment firms. |

A lot of the large “Bank Owned” firms are good. Although they are owned or associated by the bank, the advisors are still independent.
The nice thing about the “bank owned “ ones is the brand, and there is a lot of support and research, solutions available to the advisors when compared to the smaller ones.
I vote RBC Dominion Securities. :D
