Is there any place for decent fast food burritos - Click HERE for Original Thread

jordanturbo
I just got back from colorado a couple days ago, and after having burritos every day or two, I am starting to feel withdrawls. I was wondering if there was any fast food place in E Town that does a decent burrito like Chipolte's or Qdoba's from the states. I'm not talking about the shit type of premade bean burrito you would pick up from taco bell. But the big ones that are an entire meal and built like a sub infront of you and end up weighing a pound when done

Thats what I kinda figured, it sucks that all we get here is the cheap greasy pre prepared junk of taco bell or taco time. It was decent getting a big steak burrito that used good ingredients, and was a healthy meal

I tried the one in St. Albert, here and they are similar, but it just doesnt seem to cut the cheese, the way the meat is seasoned and prepared, then the different peco's and salsa's and corn, and beans you add, it just doesnt match, but i guess i might have to try and make it work for now

try the u of a one. It was the first one in edmonton and the best one imo. i have had a few great ones from there. It also depends what you want in your burito i guess. I have never been a fan of the corn and beans in mine.

I actually make my own and they're very similar to Chipotle quality.

NATO's Denver Burritos

2lbs hamburger/seasoned steak chunks/chopped seasoned chicken breast
1 pckg El Paso burrito seasoning
1 pckg El Paso Chili/taco/enchilada seasoning (depending on what flavour you want
2 boxes Zatara's Black bean rice mix, or plain rice (depending on what you want)
1 large can of corn
1 can black beans
1 roasted red pepper, sliced jalepeno peppers (if that's what you're into)
The largest burrito tortillas you can find

1. Cook up the meat and add seasoning as directed on package.
2. Cook up rice, let simmer until most liquid is gone
3. Add meat to rice in large bowl
4. Stir in Black beans, corn, pepper, jalepenos
5. Scoop it onto a tortilla and you're good to go.

This recipe makes enough to last a couple days, or at least 4-5 very large burritos.

Enjoy.
