| i almost hit someone in the rear bumper,so i was driving straight on the main street, came to a very small intersection,a car was turning right he totally didnt see me,i was close enough to collide him while he was turning.so i smash the brake and steering to the opposite direction. if i did hit him,the scene will seem like a rear ended collision, but with witness, its another story.who's at fault? |

If you hit him square in the rear bumper it would typically be your fault for not stopping in time.
However, that being said, the person found at fault in this scenario is heavily reliant on witnesses, accident investigation, and so forth. So really, there is no way to say whether you'd be found 100% at fault for the collision.
The bottom line is drive defensively, just because you think you're in the right doesn't mean the insurance companies are going to agree with you. |

Too true.
Given the fact that you would have hit them from behind, even if the other driver was awarded a ticket for an unsafe manoeuvre, you'd be at fault in the eyes of the insurance industry, as you rear ended the other person.
Always watch the side-streets and behind you...kudos for not hitting him. |
