| Im thinking about possibly importing a car from the US, how would i be able to buy/ship a car from the US to canada without actually physically going there? I dont know anyone that lives in the US so i cant get anyone to pick it up or drive it up here, so is there any shipping companies that specialize in that? Or could i just call any company and just get them to ship a car over here? Since im not going down there, how would i pay for the car, would i give them my credit card # or paypal? If anyone has had experience in this area any feedback would be appreciated. |

your not the 1st person to think of this
riv.ca
and there is a uber detailed thread about this on beyond.ca , look for jaymez importing from the states thread
honestly with all the people doing this there is goin to be a flood of the popular choices available here for sale in the spring and someone else would have done all the work to get it here (for a cost of course) examples- 350z, g35 coupe, bmw's galore, and all other nice cars that we get fucked on price with.
my 350z is from the U S and A and if someone wants it.......everything has a price. |

| there is a list of vehicles that are allowed to be importert, and i cant find the 350z on that list. |

| nvm that i found it, it says that the car has to be built after sept. 1 2007 if its a 2007 or 2008 model. How do i find that out if the car is a 2007. Its regarding the immobilizer and the seatbelts i believe. |

| I just shipped a bunch of cars through sea rail from the states. My friend just brought in a 07 350Z no problem. I don't know how it is with the 08. Also check with the Nissan dealership here to find if warranty is transfered. It should but I know they have some stupid rule that the car has to be at least 6 months old before it is imported for warranty to be valid here. |

actually this 6 month rule is the car must be registered in the USA for 6 months after purchase in order for nissan of canada to transfer warranty. it is there way of trying to slow down cross border trading, so people dont just bring them right off the lot up hear. |

| so this 6 months thing, if the car HASN'T been registerd for 6 months and u register it here and have it registerd for 6 months in canada, would they activate the warranty then? |

| If you don't mind waiting for 6 months, you can bring it over here now and get someone down in US to register it for 6 months for you. After that you can register it here with all the warranty. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. |

| Ya I thought you might have some family in the states or something. Maybe see if someone at the dealership you get it from will do it for you. |
