The Positive Thread? - Click HERE for Original Thread

Yeah... I'm not sure why the thread (Twigs_Dee) got locked... Maybe somebody thought it was a joke or post-whoring?

It was *NOT* meant to be a joke... I think in a community where a small number of senior members tend to make "noobs" feel unwelcome (pointing the finger at myself here too) starting a thread to recognize positive NEW member influences on the community is a good idea... Perhaps we could have a "member of the month" type thread or something? Get people to vote, become active and participate in community events, etc.

Thoughts? Opinions? Help?

Therin
thats not a bad idea.

REFLUX
It looked like a discussionless thread to me so I closed it *coughPostWhorecough*

I like your idea though, go ahead with it but maybe include some detail/explanation so people know what you're trying to get at ;)

You're a senior member?

I think this could be bad also, lots of noobs trying to be member of the month and posting a whole bunch of shit. just my opinion, plus it would be alot of unnecessary work needed to run this

QFT, no offence, it's a good idea and all but it's not gonna really work to well

Invalid Zero
That's why 780 needs an admin like me to keep an eye on things. I'm on here way too much.

What's the reward for "member of the month". 100 posts added to your account ????

Dont have to have the Mods doing the update... and there could be a vote or something everything month.... "780's Fav New Noob Monthly Award - Choosen by the people of 780".
Doing it this way, its looked after by more than one or three people; also wont bring on a work load for the mods.

But some of Noobs and Knobs learn fast if we are welcome and who are naughty and nice; plus just straight up Pricks. *I can think of one total tool* Good idea for this, but also no biggy in my eyes. But ive been doing chatting alot longer than alot people and go way back to the BBS age and IRC (back in the day, mid 90's)

From past experiences... That would be a bad idea! That'll promote Noobs to spam (Post Whore) the forum with just straight up crap and complete retarded shit. So I am TOTALLY against that idea...

One opinion from one "noob"

I meant that I'm just as guilty as Aaron (just one example, first person that came to mind, not trying to single anyone out) or anyone else when it comes to making rude comments on a regular basis... Especially towards new members.

I'm trying to change that with a thread just like this.

Terry - from now on, I'll be more clear with some of my posts, sorry.
