Cold weather and drinking water - Click HERE for Original Thread

midnite
Anyone else notice they have been extra thirsty the last week? I've been drinking an extra 2-3 glasses a day. :dunno:

Not so much the last week but more the entire winter. I seem to be drinking a lot more then usual. I'll always have a big glass beside the bed as well:thumbup:

Blackout-spec

midnite
tastes so good! i really enjoy downing a full glass after dinner and before i fill one for the bedside!

EEDZ
yup, but winter in general.
2-3 extra glasses of water, plus fuckin lotion haha.

I love winter-time-water-drinking because the water is so much colder... Even right out of the tap. I love cold-cold-cold beverages.

Cyanide Ride
Guess I have to learn how to drink green tea faster...

Oh man, I am Mr. Ice. I go to house parties and bring my own bag of ice to make sure I have some. I like to rock all my drinks as close to 0 as I can get them. Cold water tastes so good after being outside in this crap.

AudiInProgress
I drink 3-4L of ice cold water every day at work...

As an aside, I was wondering if it's better to hold your piss in longer in the winter, as fluids hold heat well. When it's -40 in the patch, every little thing helps.

Unless you want a UTI, I'd recommend not holding your urine for extended periods of time...

bboybean
I love tap water... only princesses need their water filtered infused with vitamins..lol . I seriously get huge cravings for cold water somtimes.

It also takes more body heat to KEEP fluids warm.....so it is actually better to rid yourself of a full bladder to better conserve body heat.

Not commonly known but definitely good info especially for stuff like winter camping ;)

That's just a myth. Once you've expended the energy to heat the piss, it shouldn't take any more energy to keep on 'heating' it. You body is a pretty good insulator.

The energy you lose is trying not to piss your pants.

I've been using 2 or 3 extra bottles of fuckin lotion too, and one by the bedside.

midnite
we don't need to know that, haha

Hmm, I've read that it does take a good amount of body heat to keep it warm (read: the fluid acts like a heat sink)

I'll have to do some more research to support it.
