Cold fucked my dvd player - Click HERE for Original Thread

fredster102
Hey i got some random brand nextstar indash dvd player, It worked fine for the first day when it was cold , but i left my car at work for 8 hours , went home and the next day i tried to open it to choose a song to play and now my whole screen is black , i think the cold did something to it , it still plays MP3's and cd's and everything just the LCD screen stays black , this is wierd because i went to work the next day and after work i opened it and it worked again , closed it and it was black a few hours later , is the deck garbage?

You missed the part of the manual where it explains operating temperatures. Electronics don't like extreme cold. Just jeave the thing alone until the car has warmed everything up (including the wee inner workings of the player) or you risk destroying the player, and invalidating your warranty.

if it is broke and the screen doesn't work no more, i'll take it off your hands! I'm looking for a dvd player for this screen I have.

Just a thought:p

X 2.

As for the warranty..... they will never know. Just package it back up and say it stopped working and you want a replacement or your money back. :D Most shops are pretty good about that.

It is more than likely that fact the whole thing is frozen.

Maybe yours is doing what my kenwood does, I don't have a dvd player, but it does have an LCD screen and if I turn it on before th car is warm inside it'll open halfway the LED based lights will flash, it'll close wait a couple seconds and repeat, and it'll keep doing it til it's warm enough to turn on..
