| I was just "almost" rear ended. The roads were very icy and the crosswalk started to flash, other people were braking hard so I hit the brakes and stopped as fast as possible. It turns out it was a good thing I did stop as I did because two elementry kids came running accross the road right as I was comming to a stop ~10m away from the crosswalk. So right after I came to a complete stop I looked in my rear view mirrior and oh shit a car was comming towards me fast... It ended up smoking the center divider a couple meters behind my car. Anyways, I got out of my car, It was a girl from my school, I asked if she was all right, she was, I asked if she needed any help to get off the divider, she said she should be ok, I pulled my car ahead a bit intending to stop and wait to see if she got off the divider. Some prick desided to tailgate me as I pulled ahead a bit so I ended up driving around the block to come back to see if she had gotten her car off the curb... She had and nobody was there. Anyways I didn't really check for any damages, my car wasn't touched, hers didn't have any body damage but who knows maybe the control arms are bent on her car thats an easy 1k damages... I didn't even consider collecting info or anything like that but I do know her name (first name only but w/e). But do I have to file a police report? I probably will anyways just because its better safe than sorry; getting a hit and run charge thrown on to my license would suck balls. Anyway's what do you guys think? |

I think you worry too much. She decided to plow the snow off the divider rather than rear end you, that's her decision, and has nothing to do with you.
She didn't hit you... There's no "hit and run."
Even if she did hit you, you were the party NOT at fault, I doubt you could have a "hit and run" filed against you.
Why make the cops do more paperwork? |
