| I have a 1991 B2200 cab plus 2WD carburated 2.2L 5Speed, I've heard of and seen 302 5.0L ford V8's being slamed into these trucks! dose ANYONE know of a swap kit or any hints on how to do the swap? |

Yeah you take out the old shit. Make the new one fit, bolt it up, hook up the stuff to run it and you're rippin! |

| If you want to go fuel injected you would have to find an engine, wiring harness and ecu, and wire it all in. To bolt up to your tranny you'd have to go to a company like Advance Adapters and see if they make a product for your application. After that it's a matter of figuring out if your stock tranny and rear diff are going to take the power of the new engine, or if you'll have to do some work there to beef things up. |

| noone uses their stock tranny stick with the one thats behind your donor engine but you will prob need to source out a driveshaft and as mentioned you may need to beef up your rear end..this being said i have a 5.0 litre sitting in my feild thats rebuilt with a rebuilt tranny let me know if your interested |

I know of people who put 318 and 360's into D50s(same size as your B2200) they had to move the firewall a touch, or bend it, move the rad to the front side of the rad support, use electric fans, use a proper tranny for the swapped engine, used a rear axle from a larger truck, did some offest wheels, and flared the rear arches.. some had the axles narrowed, custom rear suspension, custom drive shafts, custom engine and tranny mounts(now a 3.9L V6 bolted directly onto the stock motor and tranny mounts, but that doesn't help you any)
when i ws reading about it they where using carbed 318's/360's so no engine management to worry about. |
