For the record, this isn't my system, it's a buddies...
But 4.5GHz on aircooling is pretty badass. I can't wait for my new 45nm quadcore to come in.
And the new ATI HD3870x2 1GB (Basically just two R680XT cores, and 512MB for each core, all jammed onto one card) Kicks ass! |

Good job Rob, What heatsink/fan is that on? what are temps like and i'm assuming tis stable?
Shows you don't need to spend big dollars for a chip to get something good. That's what... a 200 dollar chip? |

Stable enough to run 3DM06... haha
I don't know if it would be GIMPS stable... But it's also not my system, and I didn't really have time to sit around and prime it for 24 hours at varying voltages.
I know it did 1000mhz at very close to stock voltage (depending on +/- vdroop...) and to squeeze the extra .5ghz usually takes a significant bump in voltage.
I have a similar setup to play with now, but I'm waiting on some new ram. |

Yup. $209CAD.
No need to spend the extra $1000 on the Xtreme series chips.
If you want to drop a load of money, do it on the video card.
The heatsink used was a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme... Best money can buy right now. |
