Production Challenger shots - Click HERE for Original Thread

oldraven
Yeah, I know they've got them planned for the 09's, but it seems like all the guys who buy 08's (for way over MSRP) will be getting robbed.

catlin987987
they probibly know better, maybe they will sell them cheap in order to get a 09:thumbup:

Dodge is now the only company to "bring back" a vehicle without murdering it:thumbup:

Forgetting the Ford GT?

Psi
Wasn't the GT just a race car back in the day? Not a production

No, there were road cars. I'm pretty sure they ran in a Production class, so there had to be. Anyway, there were a fair number made and sold to the public. I think only 12 of the 427 cars were sold, though.

Few things new in the Challenger world these days

First soon to be released is a Saleen Challenger

SMS To tune Challenger

Steve Saleen has started a new company SMS...and will be producing its own Signature Series versions of the Dodge Challenger.

 Hmm why?

I don't think it looks better..the price tag jumps higher...maybe the car goes a little faster...but why mess with an already good thing?

Can only figure one with "too much cash" would be interested to buy one of these so for those of you with too much cash...the Saleen Challenger is said to become available...last quarter of 2008 with a price tag starting at 55K

Moving right along...a couple years back 2 Dodge Challenger Super Stock Concept were designed for Sema 2006 only

525 hp and a 392Engine cu in Hemi V8...back in 1957 the 392 was introduced in the Chryslers and Imperials which replaced the original 354 cu HEMI of 1951

"There was really only one vehicle choice to showcase our new crate motor the bold, powerful and capable, Dodge Challenger"

Well presently the NHRA is in the final stages of approving this Challenger Super Stock's design for competition in its Stock Eliminator class.

The track only car comes with no extras...you are lucky to get the driver's seat lool there will be no sound deadening...wipers...power windows...radio etc...this car is pretty much stripped to be so much lighter in body weight...like 800lbs lighter than the newly released Challenger...seems a shame they couldn't make the 2008 800lbs lighter lol

Oh yah...and they will be available in a very limited number...

Sit Down & Shut Up

They are here !! :blue:

Anyone catch the new Challenger pacing the Nascar races last weekend at Darlington? Few pictures from someone who was there

I'm just a little excited about this car ;)

Um how come you are oldraven and sometimes you are........... oldravenold ??

Split personality ?? ;)

The Stig
I started reading till I saw, "but why mess with an already good thing?"

Ferrari FXX
"SRT"
"AMG"
"M"
"SS"

etc.. are all messing with "already good" things. They are no different than any other company that way.

Take a good thing, and make it better. Doing so doesn't make the now better thing, make the original good one look bad. It's still good! <-- I know from experience people in this forum would say, "hard to read" so read it again or go back to school.

.. cranky day. f'n McDonalds

Cheverz
Well... Look's like there will be 3 model's and a standard transmission available.http://en.autos.sympatico.msn.ca/ne...umentid=8134839
Amazing such a low base price as well.
The SRT8 offers an available six-speed manual transmission or standard five-speed automatic transmission mated to the SRT-exclusive 6.1 L HEMI V8 engine that produces 425 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft. of torque. For 45k i might actually consider this car for reality now.

deathwarden5
I thought the first years were only auto?

euro_ftw
i want one ..... i want one.......

My original oldraven account was giving me problems, (I couldn't edit posts or even view my control panel). Cyanide Ride made me a new account and renamed the old one to oldravenold.

Yep, the second year run will have a manual, and an LSD.

Cheverz
Nope get the the srt model and its your choice for the first year, THANK GOD

The SRT is the only model available first year (2008).
And as far as I know, they will *ALL* be automatic.

I saw a black one here in the West end although I didn't really notice the plate...

No rumble as it passed but guess that is expected being it is a 1st year car...most people probably won't go modifying them being they are "collector car" which makes me very excited to see the 2009 on the road that will have more "factory goodies"

:)

Oh yah a dealership in Calgary has two for sale...one black and one orange...the price is $75,000 and there is one in Quebec for $55,000...that seems more reasonable lol

Anyone heard if there is one at a dealership here in Edmonton?

blondy
That EBay auction that had the #43 Richard Petty edition Challenger...well the winning bid at $228,143.43. The auction had a total of 116 bids and was delivered to its new owner this week

The build team's signatures are all over the bottom of the car

And the car came with another autographed hood signed by Richard and Kyle Petty.

Don't hold your breath. I hear it's coming out just after the new 442.

For now, there's this custom job.

I'm double-posting on purpose here.

I just came across this.

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/d...rticleId=128306

Dodge is working on a dealer option Mopar Blower for the Challenger, that should be good for 630hp with a stage II package.

crzyone
And that is why Mopar is awesome. Factory warranty blower options. That is some serious power.

Never going to happen... The "plymouth" brand name was discontinued years ago.

From what I know the Cuda was made by Metal Crafters who have nothing to do with Chrysler...strictly a custom...not a concept. Unless Chrysler brings back Plymouth it seems sacrilege

:)

Oh, I know. I wasn't posting that as 'the new 'Cuda'. He wanted a Plymouth, and I showed him the closest he would ever get. ;)

Geo has posted some pictures of the Dodge Challenger in the "spotted" topic and I was just telling him that that isn't even a Canadian car...no 500 badge in the grille

Canadian Challenger 500 SRT8 is a Canada only and come fully loaded. There is supposed to be only 500 available but the service manager was telling me he has heard stories that there is a little better than 600 of them.

I've heard that the 500 authenticity comes with a $2000 price tag.

He's not sure for the reasoning of this maybe Chysler saw it as an easy opportunity to make a little more cash by playing a heritage/tribute card.

One thing for sure it's more collectible than #3608 out of 6400 that the U.S guys get to have

He also said a US model was spotted on a truck at a fuel station heading for Calgary...it was a black SRT...no warranty on exported vehicles.
