So Conroy and I got the wagon going today. And after taking it around the block a couple of times and letting it idle for an hour or so we put fresh gas in it and decided to go for a road trip to visit Matt in Wetaskawin. It was a good break in drive with a few carb stumbles along the way.
On the way back we decided to fool with the jetting a bit and see what it launched like with the new suspension; I'm happier than a pig in shit to report that the new rear suspension DOSEN"T WHEEL-HOP! YES!
And I have to warn all you other guys that this thing pulls like a raped ape! Not that I've ever seen a raped ape pull anything.... but non the less it moves! Run it slowly to 5K in 1st and flat punch it; grab second as the revs reach 8K in no time! I'm wayyyy too excited! Hopefully going to go to the track Friday night and see what she can muster with an 8K redline. When everything has more than 3 hours on it I'll hopefully use 10K or 9500 as a redline!
The weirdest thing is that it is quieter with the same exhaust and way bigger exhaust port; not that I'm complaining. And I've never seen a street port that runs this smooth. It idles at 700rpm as if it were stock! Too weird!
Non the less, figured I'd let you guys know cuz I know some of you need to have your butts handed to you at the track! So bring it on! :P

B) So the Getter went to the street legals tonight; nothing like running the crap out of a motor with 2.5 hours on it!
Things started out well; 14.8 for a first run, matching the best ET from last year; followed by a 14.7, already the fastest run ever; next came a 15.0, that's what happens when you bog it to 3000rpm off the start and try to shift into reverse instead of 4th.
So, the final run of the night was coming up and all night I was having trouble launching the sucker. The wheel hop was there but it was much improved and Trent's old tires he gave me were sticking hard. I launched it at about 7000 and watched the rpms drop to about 6 as it spun and hooked, finally a good launch! Grabbed second as fast as I could and looked over to see that the Mustang on slicks I was racing was still next to me! I grabbed for 3rd and the V8 started to pull away, not surprisingly with Nitrous and slicks! So I'm rolling around to get my timeslip hoping for a 14.6 or a 14.5 when alas; all I could muster was 14.215@96.07!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ....... and I red-lighted by .008sec but that's beside the point!
That's right folks, the wagon is a contender for the 13s! All motor and minimal tuning no less! SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTT! B)
So best I can figure with some velocity stacks and a little more toying with the jetting the 13s are a reality! I am so stoked!
Just thought I'd let you guys know! Thanks for the carb Edwin! Jetting is cool and so are fuel pumps that run 8psi and still need a regulator!

:D Just re-read the All Motor rules for JB's BOI and it lists only 4 and 5 cylinders as well as 2 and 3 rotors. This means no M3!
Woooohoooooo!

| exactly what kind of "wagon" is this? It's always nice to see an old wagon give a nos'd up mustang a run for it's money! Way to represent. You should come and work on my car a bit, lol! |

:D It's a '76 Mazda 808. The piston engine version of an RX-3. I removed the piston engine mounts and installed an RX-3 cross memeber. I also removed the automatic transmission and reokaced it with a 4-speed. And the motor is a modified street ported 13B from a '85 RX-7 with a 50mm Weber carb. That's the basics..... and it has a posi from an RX-7 too.
