Don't care what brand so long as it's reliable (Ballast won't quit after 2 weeks) and I can get replacement bulbs when I need to.
Unless it's straight forward, I Don't really know how to intall these. Maybe someone could help, I'd throw them some bucks.
I'll check out ebay for prices but I'd rather not buy off there.
THanks,
Chris |

hey Chris please do it right and get projectors, you know so every one else doesnt get blinded.
plus it will be way better looking/performing and safer.
if you are going to get cheapo's just get piaa bulbs instead and wait till you have the $$ to do it right. |

ya that's another thing, I've heard that the glare is blinding. I don't want to piss people off. Projectors will eliminate that? How much do those projectors go for? I might be able to afford the.
Do you know where I could get them? |

i dont know exactly how it works but a a guy i know who works at westside automotive has done this many times for many vw's they work on, and i think some of his buddies.
from my understanding you need to source out a crashed car or buy used the ballasts and projectors (tsx and audi's are most popular for him) and then plastic weld that to your existing housing. so the actual projector from the other car becomes your projector, then they usually black out the rest of the housing giving a pretty kick ass custom look. and it doesnt burn everyone else retina's on the road.
it sounds ghetto but they have made some amazind HL's for cars using this method and when complete it looks as good as stock, and performs amazingly.
its not cheap but this would give you a true HID with proper cutoff etc.
like i said i dont know a ton about this but if you just put hid bulbs in you regular housing it will be bright but not aimed/focused or proper.
others who know more...chime in and learn us all!!! |

Don't go with HID's unless you get some Retrofit Projectors.
That has to be one of my hugest pet peeves. You blind everyone else on the f'n road. |
