WTB: Tranny cable for AW11 - Click HERE for Original Thread

SilverFire
Hey all,

I've had the worst luck imaginable this week, and if anyone here can help I'd be so happy. Not only would you be getting my 2 going again, but having one here would mean my luck has finally changed.

Seeing as how I snapped the 1-3-5/2-4-R selector cable (Shift Control Cable in the Haynes book), I need a new one. The closest new one is in Vancouver, and will cost me $350. I can't afford that and to get someone to put it in, so it's not an option. Does anyone local have a parts car with an intact one? The sooner I can get it the better... I'm stranded until I can find one.

Thanks guys!

hey I'm just wondering if you still need this and also how much you would be expecting to pay? and by you I mean people in general lol. I think I might need one

Oops, I forgot to post and let people know I got one...

I don't know what people might be willing to pay, but I paid $60 shipped for mine (used). Apparently, Gateway Toyota sells new ones for ~$500 each, but Sun Toyota was only ~$350. :dunno:

You say you need one? I actually wound up getting both cables - 1 for 1/3/5, 2/4/R and the other for 1/2,3/4,5/6 selection. I actually only needed the first, so if the second is the one you need, let me know. I'll sell it as cheap as I got it.

What's it doing? I knew I needed one when I looked underneath an could see the break, but I'm starting to think that wasn't the actual problem since I've had it in for almost a week now and it's back to not wanting to shift into the "rearward" gears. It was good for a couple days...
