| yeah man. for the cost of a JL system, you can get something way louder and way clearer from a different company. you wont have JL logos in your trunk, but you will have alot more bump in it thats for sure...and more coin in your pocket. but i guess you wont be as balling cause you dont have the king of subs...the W7 :dunno: |

| ive seen louder and clearer at Sema...stuff from off coast. you dont get to have a huge brand name in your trunk like Rockford or Clarion...but it dont matter when your blowing out windows in yoru vehicles. ( at least thats what i think ). some people brand is more important that quality and performance. |

| they were clarion 1500 watt rms's....running with 4 2000 watt clarion amps....nice and loud. i dont know how much they are actually....couldnt hear the guy talking to me, so i just walked out of the store. |

humm well clarion pxw1552's running at about 800Wrms, rated for 700 ftw. i have put 1100 through myne and they are still as good as the day i bought them. this whole thread has shown the world of 780 how your knowlded is limited to 0% of the car audio world. DD has the 500 and the 1500 series which are their entry into the more sq realm of car audio.

its a pg octane r 12 from about 5 years ago lol, well less but its old, rated for as much wattage as a AAA battery.
the sub sucks dick in any other box but this is almost a perfect enclosure for the sub. it is about 3hz of the fs of the sub, box tuned to 25, where the subs fs was around 22.3 iirc.
port area is equal to the area of the cone.
and sub with a high qts, low qms, and a low fs will sound really good in a 1/4 wave transmission line.
this sub meets about 2 of those specs. |
