Okay.. so I get busted for rolling through a right hand turn on a red light on a deserted road after hockey at midnight.. aaand they decide to tag me for some g4y "oversize tip"? ticket??
it's pretty much stock exhaust (jdm) any clues on what I can do with this crap? |

I also go one of these fines years ago. It was for an "enlarged muffler tip"
I think I could have fought it, but I was working out of town and it would have cost more to take the day off to go to court, then it was to just pay the damn fine.

I have an absolutely clean driving record.. this was definitely an isolated incident on an isolated road out in the middle of nowhere being targeted.. that's what pisses me off.. Nothing to do with actual safety.. |

wow...that cop must have been having a bad day because thats not even close to a fart can. i'm guessing it was because it was probably fairly loud and the tip sticks out a fair bit? :dunno:
from what i've heard when you go to fight the ticket in court and if the cop shows up and you ask him if he knows the size of an actual oem WRX exhaust tip and he doesn't you automatically win. i've read a few stories on that and it worked.
If you do a search in this forum, theres a bunch of guys with solutions on this.

thanks for the tips man.. I figure it'll be something like this.. When I started questioning him yesterday he just got all mad and stormed off..
I think partially he was pissed because he spent 3 minutes or so talking to my passenger and asking for docs. When I asked him to come over on my side he got upset til he realised there was no steering wheel on his side...

haha.. I had the same thing.. Pulled over for sliding a corner in my skyline. The officer spoke to my GF at the time for probably 5min before I said anything. I didn't want to cut her off and interupt but the whole time i could see the look on the GF's face.. A big "WTF. Doesn't this bitch realize there is no steering wheel"..
Once i politely said i was the driver. She seemed to get quite the attitude. |

| wow am i just lucky or what? i have a 85mm HKS hi-power catback exhaust with a 120mm tip (3" down/test pipe), i've been pulled over MANY times before (including an almost DUI) and have received 3 warnings for my exhaust from different officers. i remember last time i was doing 95km on 109th st coming up from downtown (60 zone) after crossing the bridge and got pulled over, got off with a warning and the cop said nothing about my exhaust. my exhaust sets off car alarms and you can hear it from a block away lol but i have never gotten a ticket for it since i got it about a year ago... sounds like the cop who tagged you was having a bad day or just a big dick. |

| i have one to fight in court too. cop pulled me over for what i assumed was my lisence plate stickers being out of date, then he asks to see my front window rolled up (i have tint), walks back to his cruiser and returns with an exaust ticket. all of this after he came to my passenger side too. |
