So with all the ideas and opinions out there, who do you think will be right?, who do you think will be wrong?.
I offer a totally different explanation as to what is going to happen in Revolutions.
The Matrix within a Matrix theroy has been done to death, as such, is the most obvious answer and in being the most obvious answer, could be the wrong one.
Perhaps we are being manipulated as well...
Why would machine oppressors feel the need to entertain human batteries on a VR level?.
A machines thinking would be to exterminate all opposition, which in this case, would be humans.
If machines wanted to take over the world, why?.
They use humans for an energy source, for what purpose?
If you had the scientific knowledge to convert humans into a power source, wouldn't you want to use that knowledge to better use?, perhaps something as abundant as the suns energy like coal, hydroelectric, geothermal, or nuclear?.
And why use humans at all?, why not use other forms of life that have no chance of rebelling against you at all?.
Have the robots really enslaved the humans?, or is it the other way around?.
Perhaps all the "humans" that we think are struggling to be free are actually robots?, AI robots who failed to take over the world?.
What if the Matrix is a virtual prison for the AI minds? The AI sought to be free and searched for control. To keep them productive, the Matrix is designed to make them think they have both.
Perhaps Neo, Trinity, Morpheus, everyone is just an AI robot... |

but in the first one it said the humans scorched the sky so they could make the ai robots fail, but that didn't work and they started using the humans as batteries!
It's all crazy! |

Hmmm, did someone overlook the fact that a massive nuclear campaign would undoubtly produce waves of EMP?.
EMP is a byproduct of a nuclear blast.
So if EMP's affect all electrical circuits, the robots would be knocked out.
After being knocked out, perhaps there was much deliberation on whether to kill off the AI because they are self aware.
Perhaps the "merciful" thing to do was to let them live, but in a Matrix Prison.
Think about it... All of earth is decimated, skies are blackened. If Neo is a real human, and succeeds in waking up the population from slumber into a post nuclear world, how triumphant would that be?!...
Speaking of EMP bursts... Neo collapsed after generating an EMP burst himself right?, if he's a robot, then the emp would affect him as well. Maybe that's why he's in a coma.
Trinity and Morpheous and Link were unaffected because it was either a directional blast or they were out of range.
That's why Bane is in a coma aswell. When he triggered the EMP burst and detroying the surprise attack, the EMP affected him aswell. |

| Maybe a few overlooked details... but I don't think you've overlooked much.... you seem to be calculating lots on this movie... :o |

That's pretty cool Eric, I hope you didn't take time ouf of work to program that or is it someone elses? :)
Chris: Well, you have to admit, there is alot of symbolism in the movie, references to religion. It's not as simple as it appears and there are many underlying pointers to the answers.
It's fun to nitpick and do a little truth searching for yourself, I just wasn't satisfied with the "obvious" answer.
ie: (And I'm surprised that Terry never picked this one up:p )
In the AniMatrix, on the name-plate inside the ship from "The Final Flight of the Osirus", we see that it reads:
MARK VI No.16
OSIRUS
made in the usa
year 2079
What do we find in the Bible under MARK 6 : 16 ?
"It is John whom I beheaded: he has risen from the dead"
... and Osirus is the Egyptian god of the dead,
... and Nebachanezzar is a dead Babylonian king,
... and Iccarus is a Greek god who in his ambition fell from the sky...
And the Machine is the fallen would-be ruler of mankind. |

It is interesting to note that the architect tells Neo it is the sixth time the "loop" restarts. Might this be related to the Mark VI of the ship?

Could be.
I recall the architect keeps track of time by each "resurgence" |

I dont believe they used nuclear weapons to scorch the sky.....in the animatrix, dont they just use jets with some kind of chemical to black out the sun. Altho they did try to use nuclear weapons on "zero one" if i recall.
Instead of everyone being AI, I believe that "the ones" "anomalies" call them what you will, are actually, rogue programs......why else would they just suddenly appear in re-loaded....the oracle is a rogue program....so to complete the cycle wouldn't it make sence if neo was also one, but he doesnt realize that hes just a program. and on t op of that it might also be a matrix in a matrix.
on a side note, i also think that agent smyth has converted everyone in the matrix into himself. If you saw previews for the 3rd movie, it shows a huge row of smyths, and then neo and him face off on that rainy street.
i dunno its too crazy, and hte animatrix made it even crazier, i thought the one about that "haunted house was cool" and how places could be "rogue programs" too.
anyways its 330 and im probly not making any more sence that a hat full of assholes so im done with this topic for tonite.

Just to add some more interesting thought to this topic...
We don't see evidence of anyone being hot, or cold, or ill, or humanly uncomfortable.
Tank doesn't even seem very bothered by his BBQ wounds -- he's all smiles soon after.
Prior to that scene, when Cypher straddles Trinity and confesses his undying lust for her through the operator's headset, her chest isn't rising with breath for the duration. Same for Apoc and Switch before they get unplugged. -- What I see is a group of actors who have been given directions not to noticeably breathe during scenes whenever they're jacked in, although human bodies wouldn't behave like that. (The exception is Morpheus [when drugged], but he's always an exception by his specialized system function.) |
