"recalibrated to deploy at a lower force" Meaning "So your air bag actually does deploy"
 I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the air bags don't deploy at all lol. and this is the fix to cover their asses. |

"Internal testing showed the air bag could injure a small, unbelted passenger, said Ford spokesman Wesley Sherwood."
No shit. Why are these brats riding in the front seat without a seatbelt? I'd be wanting to smack it in the face with a pillow too.
Do us all a favour, folks. Put jr. in the back seat and nail his ass down. |

....
Well shit....
The dash and windshield can do the exact same thing when not wearing a seat belt.
"Unbelted" That is the best they can come up with. Fucktards.

Is there a Ford vehicle without some kind of recall on it? Since the Pinto, Ford recalls everything. If you own a Ford between 1973 to 2008 expect a letter in the mail that your car is pos.

Fixed. There are recalls on just about everything with a seat and a steering wheel.

As funny as that retort was though, I still much rather have a G35 than a Mustang at the end of the day. Its not even a contest IMO. |

I agree. My point wasn't to make him like Mustangs more, though. I'm not God. :p |

As much as I appreciate your attempt to prove that the G has a horrible recall history. I will explain, on the 06 G35 coupe and the FX35&45 Nissan did a recall because the headlights were to bright for north america. Yes I read the link, I know the real reason though. I guess Ford owners complained or something.
Whereas the 03,04,05 Ford Focus with the rear wheels that would fall off. Thats cool, or how about the 94-96 Aerostar mini van with the power steering pump that used to catch fire, thats hot. Another favorite of mine was on the 90-95 Lincoln town car with the crankshaft that would break in half if you over revved the pos.
These are just some of the ones I have seen on the 6 o'clock news and heard from some of the unfortunate souls who are stupid enough to purchase the vehicles.
Good work with the foot comment, I hope you didn't work to hard on that one.
Regards,
GT |

Blahblahblah, whine cry.
Butthurt?
The only thing I was trying to 'prove' was that everybody has recalls. You made it sound as if Ford was the only company to issue them.
Plenty of Japanese cars have had pretty serious recalls in the past, and more than usual lately. Honda and Toyota in particular are having a rough go of it. I'll let you do the work this time. You'll find lots of lovely tidbits about wheel bearing failure and even issues for engine replacement.
Ok, I couldn't help myself. This one was issued last week.
http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/d...rticleId=124880
Nissan is recalling 16,365 2008 Infiniti EX35 and 2009 Nissan Murano vehicles to correct faulty software in the passenger airbag control unit.
"Due to incorrect software programming, the airbag control unit may cause the passenger airbag not to operate as designed if the vehicle battery becomes significantly discharged," said the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in its summary of the problem. "This could result in the passenger airbag not inflating in a crash in which it was designed to do so, and increasing the risk of injury."
Now we're talking apples and apples. Wiggle your way out of that one. |

This leads to one simple point. All cars suck, some more than others. We can sit and debate about which ones suck more, but who cares? They suck in some way, shape or form.
Screw 'em all. I'm going to go buy a Tank. Then let's see who needs the airbags. More like bodybags.

Easy Nissan must have gotten the air bag module from Ford. Thanks to Renault Nissan must be doing some cost cutting.
I guess Ford still can't figure out the air bag. Remeber the 98-00 Windstars with the air bag that would deploy if you slammed the doors to hard. What do ya think of them apples?
Another 6 o'clock news recall from Ford the flame throwing exhaust from the 07-08 F250 diesel. What is with the Ford and fires. Don't bother bringing up the 84-88 300ZX and the fuel injector recall I allready know.
You are correct just about every car has recalls. My point is that Ford just has more, or at least more on the news than anyone else. Consider yourself lucky you have one of the better Fords. Granted when they first brought out that turbo 4 Ford didn't know how to oil the turbo properlly. There were several 75-77 Ford fairmonts with new passenger side fenders and tires thanks to Ford.

| Did the 1990-1999 300ZX's have any recalls? I don't recall ever hearing of any? Maybe because God made the car..:D |

Yes, they had an issue with the front brake calipers between 90-92. Surprisingly the 91-93 Sentra had the same problem. The funny thing was it was not very serious though. Of course lets not forget about the seatbelt issue. Don't worry that recall was only for US models.
I shouldn't post this though I know Oldraven will have a field day with this.

Another Z32 recall was for the early style PTU, but that recall was issued in the US only. Unfortunately Canadians got shafted on that one. The problem still existed on our cars but we had to replace it out of pocket. |

Oh yeah, I think I remember Ron replacing this for me, he was saying something about that when we first looked over my car. |

No worries man. Like I said, every car maker has recalls. ;) I wasn't trying to bust your balls, just making a point. Besides, I don't need a Nissan owner's insight to know Ford has some quality issues, and had a lot in the past. I own one, remember?
quote: , or at least more on the news than anyone else.
And that's exactly it. Every time a domestic has a recall, it makes news. Import or Tuner boards have a field day. You can't say that about imports. People have this obsession with proving Domestics are inferior, which these days is all a matter of opinion.
But I could start making a habit of posting every recall I read about in the auto news. :)
Fords do catch fire, though. That's why I made this last year when they were popular.

The one I was driving around didn't catch fire, but I did smell a burning smell, must have been the tires:D |
