1989 mustang work? - Click HERE for Original Thread

so im looking for suggestions as to parts and a place to do the work to upgrade suspension as well as some engine work and a new clutch for a 1989 mustang ( 25th anniversary) for a friend i work with.

he says he has a small oil leak that he has niticed with it being parked for the winter. as well as a radiator leak that he noticed at the end of the summer at the same time his clutch started slipping.

he wants those fixed as well as possibly simple engine upgrades and suspension upgrades as well.

as of now it is a stock 5.0L with dual 2.5 inch exhaust

i would prefer hearing about things people have used to make sure i suggest something good rather than just reading specs on the internet.

thanks for the read,

Gary

well i've got a 92 5.0L and i put the centerforce dual friction clutch in it, and i really like it! It's very streetable, no extra "force" on my leg at least, and it grips like a mofo... As for the oil and rad leak i'd just look for where they're coming from and fix it

For suspension i put the bbk springs in mine, and so far just stock shocks which worked alright last year but this year i'm goin with somethin aftermarket, don't know yet but i'll let ya know

and lastly on the engine side, i have the bbk fender mount intake which i think is awesome, not too loud and does the trick. Also I have a bigger throttle body and spacer, as well as maf housing. On the exhaust side my car came with longtube headers which is supposed to give you good torque.

Other than that i'd just stick with tested and tried stuff out there

go to martin at AFI performance, he does good work.... he's a chev guy but he knows his way around 5.0L very well.... highly suggest going to him to get work done...

Yeah, wolf pack will be able to help you a lot more ... I'm also a member of AMOA so I have a list of mustang places, but they only really carry stuff for newer mustangs :dunno:

I'd also check out the mustangforums ... There will be a lot of good information there, and the members who are into modding will be more than happy to help.

thanks.
