| Have I been under a rock or something, since when was a Ferrari Maserati dealership opening in Calgary? I googled and found the same group built a 70 000 sq ft shop in Toronto. Has two service departments and two show rooms. It said it will also have a restoration and racing departments as well. I don't know if the Calgary dealership will be like that, but I think that is really cool. With some cars going for 200 grand I think we will see a few more running around. |

| Ya I read that one already. I just haven't heard anything on the news about it. I guess they wouldn't make a big deal about it until they opened. I think it will be cool to see when in Calgary. |

The Bentley dealership has been selling cars for ~ 6months, they are awaiting the reno of the old Calgary BMW building. Vancouver has MCL for Bentley, Ferrari Maserati of Vancouver for Ferrari ( previously Brian Jessel). |

| I would hate to be the guy owns ZR auto. If you are going to pay through the nose for service you might as well have the dealership do it. There has been rumours of Lotus setting up as well. Lamborghini cannot be far off. Safe to say ZR's market share will be falling. I though it interesting to see that ZR was not at the show. |

yeah Zr will have to hope their used car sales can keep them afloat. that will be the only thing they will be able to rival against with the new dealer |

Cant tell if you're being sarcastic or not.. But I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt?
They're a high end car dealer in Calgary. Probably the most well known one around here. www.zrauto.ca |

| ZR will stay afloat. They also do custom work. |

I was totally serious, and thank you for linking me, now I know.
Does the "ZR" stand for anything? |

"Zahir Rana, owner of ZR Auto Exotic Sales and Performance Centre, has been pushing life - and exotic vehicles - to the limit since first entering the world of high-performance exotics 30 years ago. "
Calgary Sun ZR auto story
They do custom work... but so do others. Years ago there was a place called the ferrari gallery (I think) but they did not make it. I hope we are seeing dealerships and an economy that stays. Remember, there was an Aston Martin an a Lamborghini dealer here during the last boom . |

Rob,
I guess you got your answer.
Just a bit of a side note,
I was at the Edmonton Motor show looking at the lambos and lotus' and this half-retard guy was quite adament about making sure I knew ZR auto was NOT a lamborghini/ferrari dealer. It was quite funny because I replied to him in his own language...
... "you scratched my cd".
He shut up afterwards. |

that retardedly looking guy with teh red ferrari'ish shirt.. lipping ZR off used to work for Zahir...saw him every year at the show with Zahir.. i guess Zahir pissed him off so he fucked off and now joins teh bigger group...
btw one of my buddies little cousin plays for dion phaneuf's family member on SSAC south side.. just told me he recently purchased a maserati Grand Tourino(SP?) and is being delivered to his home in calgary in a few weeks...
no wonder they are opening one up in calgary hahahahaha |
|

| CKXtreme |
Oh yeah.. he was all over it. If you were there, he started bashing them at the first Lotus and followed me all the way down and around the corner of the ropes to the Murciealago.
I'm very happy for his Maserati purchase.... I hope he likes it. |
|
|
| DB9 |
| haha i recognized that guy from last year and the year before... ihope he is enjoying his new job... im going back today to see if he will bash more lol |
|
|
| CKXtreme |
I dont really care about him bashing, because, as luck would have it, I'm currently not in the market for a ferrari??
However if this is a salesperson for this future organization in Calgary, or even for the existing location in Vancouver, good luck making any sales to the highly affluent individuals that have the where with all to purchase something like a Ferrari, by bashing. I can tell you, they will simply turn around and walk out.
He probably acts like this because I'm sure every guy that walks that row asks him BS questions, and talks BS about these cars. |

ZR stands for Zahir Rana..its the owners name...the guy whos got darker skin, and hair that resembles a homeless person.
I have a very good friend in the exotic auto business in vancouver and supposedly due to the shotty workmanship and apathetic service, ZR auto's privilages were revoked from lamborghini as an authentic lamborghini warranty mechanic shop.
The guy has great inventory and some very clean cars, although due to his lack of respect for customers and his arrogant attitude along side his exorbitant prices, I would sooner walk to vancouver and purchase a car there in a market where the prices are far more competative with a better warranty plan and mechanics who are certified by the manufacturer of these cars.
just my 2 cents |

Definitely.
It seems like all they do is take the inventory for a trash and thrash.
Every single vehicle that was bagged in their "videos" just happens to be for sale on their website.
Not exactly what I would wish to buy and this type of behaviour is very deserving of a bag or urine deployed on the head. |

That is the glamorous life of an auto saleman, regardless of the market.
You don't take care of the people that come through your door, someone else will. |

A half retarded one at that.....
I just couldnt get over it. I actually had to tell the guy to shut up. I like to consider myself a pretty decent person, and I'm willing to hear people's opinions out of respect for "food for thought". But this guy really needed to lose his voicebox forcefully.
And your point about not taking care of people, someone else will is the most crucial point of any sale in any industry. You'd think the sales people would have already learned this by now. And I've found in my dealings, the super affluent have probably the least toleration out of any "class" (although I dont really believe in that)
My only reasoning for this douches behavior is because he probably has heard all the bullshit in the world at a car show like that, and probably takes it personally. Its still no excuse though. |

Its "neat" that Calgary is getting a dealership. But in the big picture, it doesn't mean a damn thing to anyone on this forum.
