Court Subpoena - Click HERE for Original Thread

I have a court subpoena (like a summons but for a witness). I do not feel that I can provide any information that any of the other witness's present could provide. I wish to be out of country at the time I have to appear. I do not wish to have a warrant out on me over spring break so how do I get out of this? Can I just phone the Crown Prosecutor? lol I dont really know where to go on this, im getting the impression "show up or else"...

you could call and ask, I don't think it would hurt any.

unless the prosecutor excuses there is a possibillity a warrant be issued for yor arrest...

Just phone them and ask.

ive had a few, it sux ass but you have to go to them. just tell the officer or crown you may not be much help and go from that.

but like a week or so before the date call and see if it is still on for that date. i've had 2 that were rescheduled

I got a hold of whatever number was listed on my summons finally. I tried for a couple days, left few messages, finally got back to me a week later. The lady said there is nothing you can do unless the crown decides to drop charges.
I went on friday (with a very sore set of wisdom teeth), waited for an hour... Lady was acquitted on all charges 30 seconds in. Waste of my morning; the process if faulty. If the crown decides to continue with charges but decides against calling any evidence (which makes charges meaningless) they should inform the witnesses that they need not appear. Arrogant little cunts!

our system sucks, I deal with it on a daily baisis

Heh I had one like that.. I even got a call 2 days before saying he was pleading not guilty and I had to show up, they had me and the other witness/complainant sit outside... then after about 2hours(other cases first) they came out and said he plead guilty we could go home.. sheesh.

Mine was somewhat work related so I just clocked in and clocked out for it :P (Security Gaurd)

:( I actually wanted to testify heh thought it would be fun
