Not sure if this is the right spot for my main quastion. but here goes.
A friend of mine got pulled over yesterday for expired registration, got a ticket and was told to take the truck straight home, as he truly didnt know they were expired. He was being nice and upfront with the cop. Anyways, the cop gives him the ticket and off he goes, not even 5 blocks down the road another cop pull's him over for the same thing. He proceeds to explain that he just got pulled over, shows the ticket, and tell's him he is supposed to take it straight home till he gets it re-newed. The cop then for some reason decides to be a dick, gives him another ticket and impounds the truck.
What can he do about this? He told him he called the other cop and asked him, and said the other cop denied telling him to take it straight home.
Then as he went to pick up his truck from the impound today, it magicly wont start. This is a newer turck and has never had a problem with not starting before, he used to leave it sitting out in minus 30+ for weeks and it would fire right up. He confronted the impound about it, but they basicly told him there not responsible for what happens.
Main concern is what can he do about the truck not running as it was obviously running when he got it impounded, and also what can he do about getting rid of 1 of those registration tickets? He has no problem paying for one, as it was his honest mistake for forgetting. But 2 tickets within 5 blocks and getting impounded is kinda harsh after the first cop told him to drive it straight home.
What can he do about this?

| When i had a 88 trans am gta with limo tinted windows on every window except the windshield, i know it was stupid :drama: I was pulled over quite often for it and once i didnt make it 5 blocks before i was pulled over a second time for the tint. The second cop didnt issue me another ticket because he said he couldnt give me another one until it had been 24hrs since the first one. Im not sure what the exact law is regarding tickets though. |

I had my rsx broken into while it was in a police impound...
cameras, watch dog and all.....car was parked in the only corner unseen by cameras....figured it was an inside job....
confronted the cops, confronted the impound owner (who had nothing to help me at all) and guess what came out of it
fuck all...
so im guessing your buddy is SOL as well |

| i would fight the second ticket.. however, it sounds as if he is SOL about the impound (police do have lawful authority to tow)... Unfortunately, Unless there is obvious damage he will have a hard time proving the City or impound is liable for his vehicle not starting. |
