Even though this is a clear "yes its better" or "no your just paying for the name" kinda thing, ive also put a poll so people can share their experiences with monster cable.I'm wondering if Monster cable is really worth the extra money over conventional brands of cable, like Best buys own Rocketfish brand, ect. Most of the time Monster stuff is about 33% more expensive.I'm talking about like RCA cables, HDMI cables,stereo to RCA (back of deck to ipod headphone jack), ect.
Obviously its top quality stuff, but to save some money will you get the same results from other brands? Myself, i shell out the extra cash money.I think its great shit.

Once you realize that markup on the monster cable you'll see that it's the same quality but marked up extensively.
I agree that any cable isn't good enough, however the quality behind monster cables is similar to many of the cheaper brands. |

It has been shown that Monster cable is no better than using wire coat hangers.. I read about it on gizmodo last week.. I'll go look up the article... You will laff.

| I've spent a fair bit of money on 'decent' quality home threater cables over the last ~8 years, but I've never bought any 'Monster' brand, and don't feel the need. :dunno: |

There HDMI cables are VERY comparable to Monster with anything under 3M. and at 8-12 dollars a cable you cant go wrong.

Here is a good read. Monster does make good HDMI cables, but you cannot justify spending over x10 the price for that improvement in longer lengths. Besides how many of you guys need longer than 3 Meters?
Oh BTW I work at a big chain retailer that sells monster cables and I just get sick of all the employees brainwashed by how good monster is. They still cost 36-60 bucks for staff to purchase which IMO is still a huge waste of money. |

You can even buy cables that are $2000 per meter. |

The only time you would really need to buy monster is if you're going a longer distance. No name cables tend to have thinner wires and less shielding.
If you're going 3 or 4 meters, and there are items in the area that could effect your signal, then yes, monster would take the cake.
But for the 3ft between the Sat box and your TV, there's no point.

no, people would sell shit for 500 bucks a shovel full if someone was stupid enough to pay the price.. and you do realize there are enough stupid people that buy into their marketing to keep the price up.
