I have a wisdom tooth comming in and I already know it has to be pulled (I've had x-rays done ~4months ago). The dentist said that it shouldn't be an issue untill the summer (this was 4 months ago), I think her timeline was a bit off. I now have a tooth comming in the side of my gum comming inwards. It has just broken the skin and my jaw is getting sore.
Of those who have gotten their wisdom teeth removed which is better/less painful. I was opting to have the teeth surgically removed before they developed... maybe its too late for this  How is getting your teeth impacted once they break the surface? Any suggestions. I want to be knocked out regardless what way I go because I fucking hate the dentist and people picking at my teeth. I would snap if I just got a local anethesia.
I made an appointment for my dentist but its not untill next week and even then its just going to be a check up, I would have to get another appointment to actually get the teeth removed. Should I just go ahead and go straight to an oral surgen? Anyone have suggestions? |

The longer you leave it, the more pain you will have. Also, make sure you get knocked out, nothing like sitting through that experience and be able to feel it all.
I've got 3 that need to be taken out, and I can already start feeling them. |

I posted a thread a while back where I urgently needed a wisdom removal as my bottom right one was rubbing against the flesh and my gums, irritating it to a point where I cannot even close my mouth.
I didnt get knocked out, just numbed. It wasnt the most pleasant experience but it was the quickest path to get it out. If it is bothering you just suck it up and ask your dentist to remove it on your upcoming appointment, usualy if it isnt busy they will do it for you on the spot.. takes no longer than 20 minutes. |

I just got mine pulled out 1 week ago. I had 2 grown in and 1 that was sideways. I got quoted at 3000-4000$ bucks at kingsway oral surgey, but after a quick x-ray they determined that the 2 could just be pulled normally and only one required surgery. So i ended up paying 1300(1000 for the op and 300 for the knockout good stuff)(Fyi i got it injected, not masked). I only got them pulled because i had sensitive teeth.
This is the low down. You go in-Check in- A Hot nurse helps you into a room- then that prick dentist comes in and tells you your really going to love chocolate milk and laughs at you- Then the wait
Then you get called in- The knock out guy comes, tell you your going to taste something funny, and you say " i dont think its woooooooorrrr" "zzzzzzzzz...."
you wake up -take 5 mins to come to life, and they make you wait for about 1hour 30 mins to 2 hours then tell you what you need to do and its complete. Then you go home and rest.
I had zero swelling and was very hungry this past week, But all in all i feel a bit better. Alot of pressure is gone too which feels absolutely great.
:D
Edit: its because i waited i got it cheap but i mean they were not bugging me alot anyways so it didnt matter for me. |

I've had two wisdom teeth pulled.. I have 2 more to go.. I was awake for all my extractions .... The last one was five weeks ago.... It sucks...
Terrible genes in my family as far as teeth are concerned, no amount of brushing/flossing/dentist visits helped...once a month for the dentist visits btw... my teeth rotted from the inside out...
I'm dreading the next wisdom extraction, I'm going to be knocked out for it I think... |

Easy way to take care of that Jeepy...
I'll knock 'em all out with a hammer, and then you can get some fancy perfect fake shiney teeth, be like a hollywood celeb with a smile so bright I crash my car looking at it!

Lol. I had 8 teeth removed and ground down. And my teeth are still slightly crowded.
All 4 of my wisdom teeth grew in side ways. They put me under and had to break each one into slivers to gett them out because of the nerves. Needless to say it was painfull after the sedative wore off. |

Are you me?
I had 4 teeth pulled before I got my braces, and I was numbed for that one.
My wisdom teeth grew in sideways. I was knocked out. When they got me to count backwards from 10, I was out when I got to 8. Waking up was fun and bloody. I healed fairly quickly. I ended up playing God of War while I was high on T3s for about 3 days. On the second day, my bf kidnapped me to go to Chinatown for tasty soft food.
Just remember to take your antibiotics and T3s! |

| I had 2 removed that broke the skin, its all about the root. If its not full developed the chances they can remove them easily are far greater. Mine were like that. The root wasn't fully developed so they removed them easily. i was put under, woke up an hour later, slobbered all over myself for awhile and moved furniture later that day. |

When you go and he injects you with the knock out, try to fight it, you get this weird taste in your mouth and your eyes are uncontrollable. lol. |

lol sounds like fun. I dont like needles either, but its more that im scared of diseases and shit than the dislike of getting poked. I've hated the dentist ever since I had one tooth rot out when I was 9 and had to get it pulled... No anethesia and when they pulled it, it broke in two. Scary shit.
I only have one comming in right now but as I said its comming in at a 90*... I have lots of room in my mouth but the x-rays suggested that they all have to go. Hopefully I can just get all removed at once. Oh well, atleast between both my parents insurance its free :) |

My orthodontist told me that I should get mine removed because they were coming in sideways... and they did come in sideways.
It as painful as hell, but after a few months they 'went back up' ... two years later, they came back! This time they came in straight. A lot less pain and he told me there's not point really in removing them now. What happened to me is quite common, so if you can deal with the pain, it might be worth it! (and cheaper) |

| Got mine done a week ago fucking sucked had all 4 done 3000$, swelled like a peach lived the first 4 days on congee and painkillers still can't really eat solid foods. I was gonna try fighting it but didn't have a chance (each comma is a second), injected, felt normal, dizzy, blinked opened eyes it was done. Nurse asked me for coke or water(chose water should go for the coke lol) I swallowed it down fine. When I went home I downed a gulp of water tilted my head back, tilted front and all of it went on my bed |

nurse: ok count down from ten
me:10 , 9 , (out cold)
then I woke up like seconds later but apparently its was almost an hour.

Uhhhh, I just had them taken out a couple hours ago now. It feels like my face just got hit by a bus!
I ended up just getting them removed at the dentist. Other than the anesthetic it went pretty well, my body doesn't take freezing very well (it just doesn't affect me). I must say, wait until the teeth are poking through your gum before heading in. Only one side of my teeth had come through, this side was extremely easy (took about 5min/tooth) they just cut the gum and pulled. Right now this side is doing pretty good, doesn't hurt that much. The side which was still under the gum was a real bitch. He had to cut the gum, mash the teeth into little bits (you hear this haggard crunching noise the entire time) then pull them out bit by bit. Took about 20min/tooth. This side is pretty painful, and is bleeding like a little bitch.
From start to finish it took just under an hour, total time in and out was around an hour and a half. lol the stitches rubbing against my tongue is really starting to get to me. |
