So do I HAVE to have a battery cutoff switch mounted outside my vehicle for me to race on Sunday. I have my battery in my truck, which is very securely fastened, but no cutoff switch. Who is teching that day and how strict do you think it is going to be? Ahhh, I just can't seem to find the time to put the switch in. Dammit. I would love to hear an answer like: "nah, a switch won't be neccessary". Cause I raced at SCC with the same setup and no problems in tech there, although I think this BOI is going to be more strict. Thanks all.

| If they stick to the rules you well need a switch! You have time so I wouldn't chance it! Nothing worse then getting turned around at the end of the tech line and a long line at that! |

According to IHRA Rules if you relocate the battery you NEED a cutoff switch. I am dissapointed that the SCC allowed such a glaring safety issue to pass tech.
Edit: Grammar... |

That's because I wasn't there :P
Must must msut have for relocated batteries:
Cutoff switch
0 guage wiring with fuses, anything smaller on SR motors and there are hot start issues.
Sealed NHRA approved and vented outside Battery box

 That's why I won't relocate my battery. I don't want to have to put a switch and run the alternator wire all the way back. That's right guys! You neec the alternator wire run through the switch to cuz when the car is running it doesn't need a battery! So do it or be left not racing!

| I don't like J.Bs but I do prefer emphasis on safety. I hope BTE gets to tech more often and that V8less wakes up. |
