| was wondering if anyone knew what the average wages for class 3 are. |

| Depends what you are doing. Anywhere from $15-25 an hour, depending on what industry you are in. If you only have your class 3, find a food distribution company (Bridge Brand (which paid class 3's about $22 and hour when I left), or Sysco) that will train you up to a class 1 for free. With your class 1 you increase your hireability hugely, and there is no reason I see that you wouldn't want it. Don't waste your money on driver training mills. |

| Can you just apply at Sysco and say "I wanna do my class 1!" |

If you are looking for oilfield work without living up in the bush, the going rate for training is around $18-20/ h and $22-30/h once you know what you are doing. Some of our good guys make 6 figures a year even with little experience, and get to go home every night.
Not sure how it is around Edmonton, but there's definitely work to be had back by Lloydminster/Cold Lake. |

Do the math on that, and figure out how many hours they must work...
I will never understand the rig lifestyle. Props for being able to do it though... I would die. |

| I thought all the delivery guys at Sysco were contractors and all of Bridge Brands drivers are hourly employees. |

Yeah, I worked for BB, and was paid hourly ($24 an hour for class 1). Sysco guys are o/o, but hire guys to run trucks and pay them hourly. |

I've been trying to get a truck in with Sysco for a while now and they always blow me off. Most of their runs seem pretty easy for the money the guys are pulling in. |
