Pronger was suspended today for 8 games for stomping on the leg of Vancouver's Ryan Kessler.

What really gets me is that in those 8 games, Pronger forfeits $609,756.08 in salary to the Players Emergency Assistance fund. Talk about a lot of money per game. |

Look to me like he was trying to skate away and got hooked on the other dudes leg... Then maybe in frustration sort of stomped him. I don't think it was intentional... One of those reflex-type-deals...
Not like he lifted up his leg to a 90 degree bend in his knee and then jackie-chan'ed him in the face or something... |

I don't care really about what happens with Pronger but in all fairness how does he get away only with an 8 game suspension when Chris Simon was dealt the longest suspension ever in history when he received the 30 gamer??
His suspension was much for the same action when he "stepped" on Pittsburgh's Jarkko Ruutu
I think he should have received something much stronger than this....not like you have much of anything to protect around your calf/ankle area
Yes Simon has had previous suspensions for dirty hits but so has Pronger....slashing....hitting in the throat area...cross check to the eye area
He is just as much a dirty $hit....guess being a "star" in some people's eyes gives you leniency |

Absolute fucking bullshit. They need to start doling out bigger punishment for repeat offenders. This is Pronger's 8th suspension for violent actions, yet he will have only served 22 games total when this is done. He obviously isn't learning and his teams aren't doing shit about it because they aren't really being punished. The Ducks should lose him for the playoffs, then there might be repurcussions from his team on top of the suspension.
