Just a heads up to you fellow VW enthusiasts.

Now this is only in my case, i know some of you have had great dealings, but non the less this is my situation and ive lost all confidence and i am not wasting anymore time with them.

It starts off with me bringing my Mk4 in to have my boost system pressure tested for leaks.
Well ill tell you this Rob, the parts manager is a great talker, and thats all it is talk.

When i picked my vehicle up that evening, first off my sterring wheel and shift knob was covered in grease!! what Rob did, was he gave a a cloth with WD40 on it, then i was charged $150.00 and he told me they smoked the system and that my boost system was 100% leak free. I told them i wanted a pressure test because under high boost i can hear a leak.
Well i said fine what ever, as soon as i left i could immidiatly hear the leak, i took Rob for a ride in my car and i had to point out to obvious leak. Pop the hood and my turbo to charge pipe hose slid off a bit, tightened her down, done, Paid $150 to fix the problem in their lot, they said wasnt there. First Strike.

Then i call in to order an ECS N75 valve, Rob says a week, daa daa daa, i say ok let me know when it comes in, i call there after a week and ahalf he says hell fone my back hes busy, ok fine. Wait and no call, no nothing till a month later, i get the call its in. Sorry after 3 weeks after you never phoned i ordered from Concept1, 3 days to my door.
Fine what ever i dont even consider this a strike.

I ask him to put together a package for an R32 kit, front and sides, with a carbon hood from VIS. He tell me the hoods $1100, the same as a BMW they order one for a while ago and said it took forever to come in. Ok fine.
He says hell fone me and let me know on a price and time for parts. Never called
Well a week later i fone him, ask him whats the scoop, he says he'll call the distibutor and call me back in 20 mins, no call. I call 2 days later he says he'll phone again, never heard a responce, i went down there. I even picked out a different rear bumper from TMTunning, Rob says hes able to aquire these bumpers even though the companys in Europe.
He says hell fone me the next day and let me know whats the deal. Next day no call, i call the 2nd day hes busy hell fone me back.....Nope never did, i call him and he tells me these bumpers are onyl availble in fibreglass, i do some research and these bumpers are only manufactured in polyurathane. Why he tells me this i dont know.
Strike two.

Well i phoned the other day and told him to order me in the R32 front and Sides. Guess what, hell phone me back
Havnt heard since...Stike 3

I give credit to Rob, hes very friendly and talks very professional, But his bullshit is obvious, and hes done nothing but waste my time.

I was impressed when i first went there, and seen nothing but VW getting worked on. My opinion quickly changed after my recent dealings with them, and not just West Side, but Rob!

There are other VW shops in the city to buy aftermarket from, i gave this shop a few good tries. So now ive gone public with my dealings, to give you a heads up. If you choose them i hope your experience is better than mine.

STAY AWAY from WestSide Automotive,

Couldn't you have gone somewhere else for the R32 kit? You would think the dealership would mark it up quite a bit.

I know Dubsport has been shortstaffed and really busy lately but i'm sure Richard would have been able to do a proper boost test :dunno: Hell, you have an aircompressor!

Well he convinced me that he could get me the kit cheaper and im sure he was ordering it from Concept1, but non the less, id rather have a shop order it than myself, less headache and trouble.

Ussually you go into a shop tellem what you want, and bingo a weeklater its in. Well this isnt the case.

Ive tried to give them the bennifit of the doubt, but in the end they failed, and i have to post this just to let other consumers know how i was treated.
Most of you know me and im very reasonable and very friendly so their loss...

I will be ordering the parts myself now, and i guess ive let the cat outta the bag early Trav :thefinger

Rob is a good dude. He just bites off more than he can chew. He seems to think he can get anything without a problem, and takes on too much, then gets people mad because they have to wait too long. Sucks, cause they are good people who don't seem to get I'd rather hear someone say no I can't do it, than say they can and not be able to.

Autobahn Performance isn't too bad to deal with. They got me a skid plate really quickly. West Side, I never heard nothing but bad things.

Autobaun has been good to me as well, and ive also heard some good things about Das Autohaus in Red Deer.

Never been there, but if its on your way someday might be a good place to check out.

Thats good to hear, which skidplate did you end up going with?

I ended up ordering mine from Dieselgeek, I would highly reccommend one to those driving their cars year round. It's saved my oilpan a few times this winter
