Paint pricing. - Click HERE for Original Thread

gtaylor
hey,

so i have a 2001 jetta which needs some bodywork.

hood/bumper and lip need to be painted. bumper and hood are already white, and the lip (OEM GLI) is raw plastic.

also, there is a notch in the hood which i have filled with a metal tab, this needs to be welded in and painted, also, if possible i would like the lip "moulded" to the bumper with i assume a plastic weld

i would also need the rear valence painted, right now it is textured plastic, but i have been told there is a treatment that can be done to stiffen it up.

i will try to drop by this week to show you guys the work, but if not this descropition will have to do.

thanks

perfect, see you then :-)

Hey, so i dropped by and you werent around.

He said about 2k for all the work.

Is that a fair estimate?

ya i'm off for a few weeks here, just had some surgery done...

i dunno if it's fair or not as i haven't seen the work that's involved, but van usually gives pretty fair prices.
take some time to think about if you want it done or not, i'm sure he told you he's pretty busy right now with alot of jobs, especially with me out of action it's even busier.

but if you want when i come back you can stop by again and i can have a look and see if i can do a little better on the pricing for you if you want.

gtaylor
yea well ive got a friend who has a guy who does a lot of painting for him, so he cracked me a bit of a deal.

i just wanted to see if the price was close enough, that i could support someone from the forum.
