I'm trying to fiugre out why Japan or Europe doesn't develop a V8 pony car. They keep working on turbo cars, but time and time again, V8's still stick it to us wimpy 4 bangers.
Why not something like a Japanese Mustang??? I mean the sales would be phenomonal. |

They would, but in europe, their emmission laws are quite a bit tighter than ours.
Especially since Toyota is halting production of the Supra, Mazda has discontinued the Rex, and Nissan (sobs) will be releasing an "End of production" Skyline and the Sylvia is no more.
Time to develop cleaner burning cars (yuck)
In Europe Aston Martin has ceased production of their V8 cars because of the new emmission laws... |

I don't get it, you see so many Trucks/SUV's that gotta put as much or more crap in the air as any V8, why is there an issue?
I agree, if you had a no-thrills V8 Japanese RWD pony car in the market, aim for it to cost less than $35KCDN it would sell mad wild. |

I think the new NSX is V8.
But the thing is that Sports Cars are no longer a hot item, big burly and expensive SUV's are what sell.
Plus it's probably easier to make a motor geared towards SUVing than make sheer performance numbers.
I'm hoping there's going to be some sort of revalation in terms of the sports cars.
But it's hard to produce a cheap fast car. |

You think all the aftermarket goodies are making Auto manufacturers stay away from "out of the box" performance"?
Like you can just about make anything super fast now. |

| Perhaps it boils down to bragging rights?, Honda has pretty much been uncontested for the past few years on this side of the continent. |
