Hey Everyone,
Finally got the carb on my roomates first gen and found out why it wasn't getting fuel. But it still won't start!!! Has very good spark and I know it is getting fuel but it just turns over and over with nothing. Can anyone help please I am free all weekend!!!!!

pull plugs. turn motor over for 30 seconds with out pugs in. do not touch gas pedal, idea is clean out dirty fuel.
repeat after letting starter cool for two min.
clean plugs/burn with torch...
put plugs back in.
pump gas pedal to floor completly three times.
pull choke out. make sure choke cable works!!! this is one alot of people over look. some of these cars just will not start without the choke working properly
turn car over.
while starter is turning press gas pedal down to aprox 1/3 pedal..
if you have good spark and good plugs and good fuel car will start.
if not drag it around the block with your buddys car and bump start it in second gear at about 50 kms per hour.
this will always work... BUT!!!! all the other things around the motor must also work for the motor to run. check and recheck. |
