198,xxx KM's
Automatic Transmission
engine is a JDM 4g63T from a Galant VR-4 with about 130-140k's

compression tested about 3 months ago - came back with ~150-152 Psi in all 4 Cylinders (Factory is around 160+ and rebuild is around 120 so engine is still very strong)

body is practically mint

it has developed a problem just in the past week though:
whenever I take the car out of park (aka reverse, neutral, or drive) it makes a ticking sound.. the ticking sound settles down a little after the car warms up a bit though, and once its on park, you can rev it all up and it doesn't make the sound at all.. might be something loose or an exhaust leak

other than that, the car still pulls like it did before, turbo still spools fine, no misfire, no sputter whatsoever, and I can start it and drive it around perfectly fine

I just dont have the patience to stand that damn noise nor the mechanical knowledge to mess around and find out what it is, so I'm willing to take a hit with the price.. it's a great fixer upper if you can find out what is causing that and other than that, is practically perfect

I'll set it at $3000 Obo for now, trades accepted just let me know what you have first.
PM me if you have any questions! Thanks

Good ol' DSM lifter tick. :p Nothing major and neither can it cause any real damage to the motor...only it's annoying. If you can live with the sound, anyone who buys this will be fine. A revised lifter install can be done too, to remove the sound entirely.

Bump for a clean 1g. Good luck with the sale.

g-force
Yeah thats just the lifter tick, its another thing to let people know that Mitsubishi or DSM are coming..:D

Rebound
very clean DSM any mods done to it at all?

tcpx
thanks guys
car is pretty stock as far as I know, except for the engine swap :)

tcpx
bump

Rip-X
the engine swap, whats the new engine?
or is that a different car?

tcpx
the engine swap is a 4g63T from a mitsubishi galant VR-4 (the mitsubishi 4g63t is an engine that is shared/used on talons/eclipses/galant vr4s/lancer evos)

Rip-X
oh, so its nothing amazingly different then

tcpx
nope, the only immediate difference you'll notice right away by looking at the engine bay compared to a north american 4g63T is that the JDM one has the "Cyclone Mitsubishi" intake manifold rather than the "ECI Multi" labelled for the north american ones

Rip-X
i see i see,
well not like that will bother me, i just wanna be able to go,
ha haa

tcpx
you wont have to worry about that, this car has a lot of "go" in it with the turbo and AWD ;)

Rip-X
lol
and that is the reason i have my heart set on it! =P
and the TSI is the all wheel drive right?

tcpx
actually no, that's one thing that some people misconcept when they're looking at talons/DSM's.

they came in like 3 or 4 trims if i remember right..
the 2nd highest trim is JUST a "Tsi", which is a turbo'ed talon with front wheel drive
the highest one is the "Tsi AWD", which is turbo'ed and has the AWD drivetrain

usually identified by looking at the stickers on the sideskirts of these cars..
the Tsi ones say "16V DOHC Turbo"
and the Tsi AWD ones say "16V DOHC Turbo All Wheel Drive"

Rip-X
alright, well thats okay, i mean, its not like i need the AWD, this is just a summer car, cuz the plan is to just make this just a stunning body on wheels, ha ha

tcpx
alright then, sounds good :D

Dude, this DSM IS an AWD.

g-force
Not all DSM are AWD. as stated on the first page about model trims. When people ask me what is DSM I always say Damn Stupid Machines.

Rip-X
yeah, i some how manages to read it wrong about 13 times, then my friend pointed out that i am a dumb ass, lol
so i know that now,
but sal good, AWD or FWD its all good, ha ha
