4 days after i bought it :(
Why do people do these things? Just wreck some random persons car?
Anybody have any ideas as to where I can get a good deal on an installed 2-way alarm?
Also, good shops that can fix this fucking thing.
EDIT: UPDATE:
Thursday April 25th or something... Thanks to whoever did THIS:

I dont have a garage so my options are
a) Park it on the street, or
b) Park it in the back alley
After owning the car for only 4 days (its only been parked at my house 2 nights) im scared to think of how often this shit is going to happen. With my previous car i had my drivers window smashed one night, and the next night eggs thrown INTO the car. Middle of winter and it froze all over the dash/interior.
My cars have been egged 3 times in the last year, my moms 07 Escape was broken into twice and stolen once.
Living in a shitty part of town with poor ass people and drug dealers sucks. |

Wow, thats brutal. When I first got my car painted and I was scared to death to park it outside my apartment building, so I moved into a house with a garage. I came home from being away with work to find my garage broken into and my car missing.
I guess if a thief wants something bad enough, it doesn't matter where you live/park it. Same goes for people who just random wreck shit.

| i cant see that kinda stuff happening in beaumont often and going untold. an alarm is one of the first things you could do, but unfortunately, these are the kinda things that are hard to prevent. some people are just too jealous of other people owning stuff |

Your car got vandalized in BEAUMONT? WTF? :dunno:
I thought it was supposed to be a nice, respectable community.
Did you file a report with the RCMP? Please do, if you haven't already. |

Yeah im in Beaumont :(
Is there really any point in filing a police report?
They will probably just be annoyed by me :dunno:
How much do 2 way alarms usually cost installed? JB's told me 400 and up for a civic |

They won't be annoyed. They may not be able to do anything about it right away. But your report would be valuable for local crime statistics. The police should know about what happened to your car. If vandalism is a worsening and widespread problem, it could lead to more resource allocation.
I would really hate to see Beaumont go down the tubes like so many neighbourhoods in Edmonton.
sidenote: thank god I've got a triple garage now, I won't have to worry about any vehicles having to park outside most of the time.
People suck. |

What country(s) is it where vandals get either public caning or get their hands cut off?
We need stricter punishment. |
|

thailand.
we don't need stricter punishment, we need to have good ol' vigilante justice .
mike |
|
|

isnt it the BRAC where there's usually a dumpster fire every few months too?
It would be nice to have a vigilante system setup, however, the criminal would sue the victim for assault.. thus hitting you in the pocket twice as hard.

...And you just got your new car. That's gotta suck big balls, sorry to hear that man.
Our 96 Neon (bone stock) was broken into twice in the 6 or so years that we've had it for. The first time happened right under our house's window at night and the thief got as far as ripping out the ignition cables...woulda been bye-bye to the car if our neighbour hadn't got back from work at the very time and scared the guy off.
The other time was more petty and involved a loose toonie lying on the center console. Was the only thing missing from the car...wtf? That happened in the inner-city area or Norwood, so go figure...but nonetheless, the driver's side frameless window doesn't seat itself properly anymore when closing the door. It's a world full of dicks, easy as that. |

| your best bet is to research and install an alarm that will fit your budget and your situation..a steering wheel lock would also be helpful. Also don't park in the backalley where there's no traffic and easy for thieves do get away with whatever they're doin |

Hey man, is your civic a 92 based off of your profile? Or is this a newer one?
You can get an alarm and install a dual motion sensor, viper has that one specifically... so you dont have to set it super sensitive where anything will set it off, but rather if someone gets within touching distance. Its an add on but well worth it. Im going to be upping the sensitivity on mine soon.. I dont like leaving it alone.
Sorry to hear about the keying, it would be nice to take the law into your own hands at times when you see people do this kind of crap. |

speaking of which, Beaumont members should have a GTG for ourselves, rather than driving deep into Edmonton for a visit.
so are you going through insurance for the paint or are you just going to pay it out of your own pocket?.. I know nisku autobody does good work, and they dont seem to be overbooked like alot of shops in edmonton.. .. just a small heads up of a good location. |

Ill probably just pay for it... its not all that bad... the door scratch can probably be buffed out, the rear quarter panel is a bit deeper...

I'm in Coloniale. And I have yet to witness riff-raff, dumpster fires, gangsta punks, or any of the like in my area. :dunno:
So far it seems like a great community for young families, and dog owners. So far my only complaints if anything would be that some don't seem to respect residential speed limits (eg. especially around new home construction areas, some seem to think the 40km/h limit doesn't apply), and there are a few irresponsible dog owners that DON'T PICK UP after them. (That really pisses me off, but if that's the worst I have to deal with then I guess I can live with that). |

It's usually decent in res areas where there's just houses. It's where the apartments, rentals are, then you have too many people in too small an area.
Plus there seems to be alot of angry renters (high rents, low wages) nowadays.
Even in 'bad' areas like McCauly, the residential areas are pretty decent. |

That's a lot of vandalism in one years time man. If I were you, I'd set up a good night-able camera somewhere in/on the house, and point it at your car. It might not stop the person(s) doing this stuff, but at least there's a chance you could nail one of them and get some compensation for it.

My buddy Robb in coloniale drives a Pulsar GtiR, his dad just sold his fairlady, and his brother drove a 180sx until he crashed it last summer :| Now he drifts a 240. Dont know if you've ever seen them, if you head into coloniale and turn left they are just a ways down the road there. |

I sold my old car to one of my friends who lives by the brac and a week later someone emptied an entire fire extinguisher into it. Fuckin idiots. I'm kind of paranoid too because i used to take the bus with this one kid who lives two houses down from me. and he's such a fucking trouble maker. i'm afraid he'll key my car when i get one, and i'd have to park it in the driveway cause my garage is full. i was driving home the other night and my other neighbor had an FC parked outside, so i was thinking "lets see if he gets keyed first". but then again, my hoodrat neighboor doesn't walk by his house to get to the bus stop. :( |

pretty much. a few years ago i came home and went to park in the back and there was a car full of guys sittin there so i went around front and they followed. my parents were fighting with a couple while i had one hanging out my window as i was driving. i started to driving towards another car to knock him off but he jumped out just in time. then they took off. cops didn't show up for 30mins and when they did come it was only one cop.... my parents told the cop to go get fucked. they were after my car stereo i'm guessing that i use to have till it got stolen. |

What age were these guys at the time? I've noticed the last few years that teenagers are realizing they can get away with anything and receive a slap on the wrist. Add that with the increasing use of meth within teenagers and you have a nasty combination. |

Not quite... 50st doesn't cross the river. Cross the river on Gretsky drive, 2nd set of light after the bridge(first works too) hang a left go to 50st, and head south from there. Or you can stay on 75st all the way down to 34ave, then turn left.. 50st is faster, but it is a rougher road. |
