once upon a time, there lived a naive little girl that had a smile, genuine, and sincere. it shone like the sun and when she smiled, sunlight blessed the world. she met a boy who was sweet. sweet as her smile and cute like herself. he told her that he loved her so the girl smiled true. he loved her, she thought, and she loved him back. it was cute. maybe only puppy love.. but there was love. i think? and then, one day, there was a ball that all the people were invited to. the little girl went with the love of her innocent life and there, they were happy. everyone told the little girl that she was very lucky.
"he loves you dearly" they told her.
feeling lucky, the little girl went home. one week later, the boy told her that he couldn`t see her anymore. the little girl couldn`t understand but she did. she said she did. and.. i think she did. so, they stopped playing together and the little girl was sad. she understood that good things came to an end but she couldn`t understand why he couldn`t be her friend. she tried to play with him again. she tried to be his friend. somehow, he found a way to avoid the little girl and the little girl stopped trying. a week passed, and then a month. the little girl thought that she should make new friends so she decided to go to the park by herself. poor girl.. everywhere she went, she was reminded of the little boy. but.. she shrugged it off. good memories, she told herself. that`s when she saw the little boy. he was with another girl. she understood that we all moved on and made new friends but she couldn`t understand why he couldn`t be HER friend. so she never said anything. it`s okay she thought. i haven`t forgotten him so he must not have forgotten me either. so another month passed, and then another. somewhere within the 6th. month, the little girl saw her little playmate of long time. the little playmate hugged her and gave her some candy.
"he said he never loved you."
the little girl cried. she knew her playmate would not lie. but.. why would he say that? after 1/2 a year.. how could he go back on almost 2 years of their "love?" so.. he must not have really loved me then, the little girl thought. then something occurred to her: if he never loved her.. how could she be sure that she ever felt love? if love is so deceiving.. she was merely feeling deceit all along. so she made up her mind, too. love did not exist and there was never love between her and the little boy. that same day, the little girl forgot how to smile and sky cried. |

I believe this "boy" is trying to continue with his own life "Guilt free" as it were.
It sounds like he feels guilty about dumping the little girl, probably for selfish reasons and it is consuming him.
Telling himself and the little girl that he never loved her absolves him of any bad feelings.

but personally, i think that reality is worse than that..
furthermore, i don't think little girls attend balls, presently
but does it really sound real? i think it's kinda dumb..
just wanted to kick start v-day season with a romantic story to make everyone go awwwwwww..

I think the self cooked meal is a good idea, but it's tough to entertain and cook at the same time. _And if you try to cook it before, it never seems to taste as good as when it's freshly cooked !
I would suggest you have have a good friend that's not dating be like your chef/waiter for the night, at least until dinner is done. Then you'll probably want to get rid of him for the dessert. ^_-
