A girlfriend of mine has hired me to do a simple amp/sub install on her new-to-her 05 turbo `vert Cruiser and I need to know if the stock head unit has pre-outs.... or if it has some funky speaker wiring that I need worry about... IE: Will I need a harness?
I haven't really looked behind the dash or even checked to see what size trunk it has, just because I wasn't really thrilled about doing an install on a PT Cruiser in the first place, but she is a friend and she really wants "BUMP BUMP BUMP" Being from South America heavy bass is important to her.... so she says...
I'm considering 2 12's DVC or a single 15"DVC as it's a convertible, a set of 10's just won't do. I'm leaning towards the 15 because from the outside... that trunk looks really small.. they say you can get two golf bags in there..
Anyone here build slot ported sub boxes for realistic prices? If I get you the measurements/design/volume I'm after? I can build my own I just don't wanna. I always get looked at sideways when I go into home depot to get MDF cut a specific way and they ask me what I'm building...
Home Depot person: Whatchya buildin Miss?
Me: A sub box for a friends car.
Home Depot person: A sub box? Whats that do? Gunna be pretty big when it's done looks like!
Me: I'll put it together and cut some round holes in it to set potted plants......
That and I have no vehicle big enough to fit a couple of sheets of MDF in... though I do have roof racks on the Civic....
Also our garage looks like a bomb hit it, I haven't seen our table saw in almost a year.. I know it's there, even where it is... :geezuz: |

| No stock preouts, but its strait forward chrysler wiring. If your doing a deck I would still use a harness as its just plain easier but if your trying to cut costs you can hack it off. As for the box, maybe let me know what size and design you want and I can see what I can do. |

So I guess I'm going to need a line level adapter.... I might try to convince here to replace the head unit for something with pre-outs... I HATE high level output/line level adapters.. sounds like junk at high volumes..
I'll for sure keep you in mind when I get around to needing the box. |

What I did was use black zip ties on spots where a vertical bar and horizontal bar are welded together. They are nearly invisible, unless you are real close. I zip-tied to the slots in the plastic grille behind.
