Anyone train D.C style or know a trainer that does. I know its a long shot asking on here but Iv just started and want to make sure im even doing it right.

Iv asked this on my bb'in forums but it just ended up in a bunch of homos doubting D.C works.

Thanks

What is DC?

It's a form of HIT training.

You do back/shoulders/chest/tri's one day, legs/bi's/forearms another. You workout three times a week, so you'll end up doing one workout twice in a week. One exercise per muscle group is used, and the method combines rest/pause sets, static holds and stretching.

It's very, very difficult. I think the big focus is that you hit body parts more times, twice every 8 days, rather than the twice every 14 days.

Interesting, a fat kid like myself would most definitely get an injury from something like that :D

Most people use it to put on large amounts of muscle in short periods of time, however it could also be used to burn large number of calories which may help you drop body fat while maintaining muscle.

I'm very familiar with DC as I have trained with a couple very well-known friends of his, Iron Addict and Silverback.

It is definitely NOT for you unless you're already a pretty advanced trainee. DC would tell you this himself if he could, I'm sure.

What does 'pretty advanced' mean? That you've been training at least for a few years and put in your time so to speak (not for people who've been lifting for years with little to no results - ie MOST people). You've packed on a lot of muscle with more basic training methods, and can bench 300, squat 400, deadlift 500lbs. That'd be a good start.

A good work capacity/good gpp is important too.

Edit: Forget bb.com, unless you like your advice from a bunch of 160lb 15 year old know it alls. Try ironaddicts.com or DC's own forum, intensemuscle.com .

Good luck.

lol @ bb.com

I have been training for quite a while (since 2001) and have benched 405 , squat 550 and pulled 715 ( :) my best lift) . blah blah blah...lol

Well Im on third workout (A2) and so far I havnt EVER been as sore as I have been the last week. Ice massages and extreame streaching help a little but OMFG my calves feel like theyre giving birth.
I heard intensemuscle.com isnt very newb friendly but maby il hang around there a it more.

Thanks

Nice numbers bro. And yeah, intensemuscle.com isn't very newb friendly, but that mostly applies to all the kids and inexperienced people who haven't put in their time under the bar and at the dinner table asking all kinds of stupid questions... when they shouldn't even be there in the first place.

Sounds like you're more than ready to go to this next level in your training. But I hope you're doing the stretches to help with that soreness lol.

I was doing westside style for a long time until my numbers began to plateau. I was going to keep with the PL'in but I was so sick of being sore and injured ALL THE TIME. I then got into more of a bodybuilding style of training but was getting bored not lifting heavy numbers lol :dunno: .

Iv spent the last year pretty much wasting my time in the gym from what I think lack of structur (I had no training partner or trainer) and consiquently<sp?> havnt made many gain . I was hoping to be able to still run in my off days to keep my stamina up (training for firefighter) but didnt really expect to be so sore.

thanks
