I got a ticket for doing 151km in a 110 zone(highway 2). Anyone know how many demerits i get for this one?

| 50+ it isn't automatic towing but it is automatic court date/suspension unless you get ticket reduced. |

| I've always heard that 50+ is a towjob, because you get your license pulled right then and there on the spot. And since you can no longer drive the car that's left out on the street..................... |

Couple years ago I got a 187 in a 110 ticket just outside of leduc on my way to a v8less event from Calgary.
Got strip searched and thrown in the back of a plice car for half an hour. Cop gave me shit about how dumb that was (i 1100% agree)
He gave me a Plain jane speeding ticket (71(a) exceeding th posted speed limit) on a pink ticket and then told me to have a nice night, see me in court. didn't get towed or anything. The fine area was blank...and ended up hiring a lawyer and bringing it to calgary. Would have equated to a 575 dollar fine 6 demerits and a 45 day suspension.
Dumbest thing I have ever done in my life!

If they have changed it recently, then I might be mistaken. It used to be auto towing though cause is was considered dangerous and reckless driving, goodbye license and goodbye car. But anyways... 50+ is 6 demerits though... just not worth it anymore.. |

I got a speeding ticket once. This is what I did. It may or may not help you. Anyways, I went a pleaded not guilty and asked for a court date. I was hoping the officer would not show up, but he did. I later found out that most of the time they do show up. Anyways, you probably already know that you can plead down the speed to reduce the fine and demerit. However, this is what I did which may be the way to go for you. I told the officier I wanted to plead to 'an owner of a motor vehicle.' This means I pay the full price BUT there is NO demerit points taken off, sweet! Hope this helps.

Ah, the Registered Owner ticket, those are good to get :)
Most cops will show up for court, as they get paid to, and if its on their day off its time and a half, so why not! B) |

I would get a radar BLOCKER instead. By the time your radar detector picks up the signal and tells you, you are already busted. I have a radar blocker and it has saved my butt at least twice. On my box it says laser defense system model laserpro 904 made by Beltronics
I got mine in Calgary and installed by autotemp. The salesman was an idiot. He was trying to rip me off so I had to talk to the manager who gave me a better deal (at least I thought is was). The installer was really good at install but the interior of my car was all dirty afterwards and I had to clean it up.
I assume that is it legal since they had it on display out in the open.
