silicone hose for boost controller - Click HERE for Original Thread

Tech2
I went to napa to pick some up, but the guy said his line wouldn't stand up to the heat and pressure of boost in an engine bay. Wanted to send me to green line for some super duper hose, but can't make that trip on the weekend. Anyplace else I can visit right away?

Not much chance of places being open on Sunday, but try calling some tuner shops.

why can't you just use regular vacuum hose :dunno:

Tech2
I thought regular hose would have been fine. Oh well.

as long as there no oil residue in those lines, it will be ok

I use Vibrant's silicone hosing for my vacuum, and boost lines, I only run about 12psi but it holds up better than the stock crap that was in there.

I used Vibrant's stuff and it tore because there was a slight angle. I have some heavy duty fuel line of the same size to use this year. That stuff won't break or tear if I tried cutting it with a chainsaw. Haha

I boost 16-18 and stock holds up fine for me. The big this is maintenance, check your hoses every few months and zip tie everything down. Boost leak testing will go a long way.

Use a bit of common sense, and you'll be fine. Silicone couplers are used to connect hte intake and outlet of the turbo all the time, if they can take that heat, they'll certainly take a connection to the wastegate. Just keep it reasonably away from the manifold, and it'll be fine.

Holy shit 45$ at mopac for a kit with all of 5 feet the size i need? Damn, I'd better shop that shit around.
