How do I get this crap to work? I'm trying to update windows (xp pro) so I can install my video card driver. The card driver won't load until I update windows and windows update site tells me;
"The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view. The options provided below might help you solve the problem. " :mad:
I tried the trouble shooter crap on the site to no avail, so I'm kind of stuck. BTW looking at a 22" monitor in safe mode at 640x480 sucks. |

I just found out it won't update in safe mode but I can't load windows normally cause I don't have a driver for my video card. And the only driver I can find says I need to install a VGA version before installing the better driver. Make any sense? Fuck I hate computers.
This is my first time formatting. :mad: |

im not exactly sure if this is relevant. but when my friend tried to format his laptop, he accidentally deleted his audio driver. so he had to download it again to have sound.. not sure if it helps :dunno:
theres supposed to be a cd specific to your computer type when formatting it that has all the drivers and basic stuff so you can load it agian once done formatting... |

epic lulz
there is a generic display driver that should work with any video card and at least give you basic functionality
there's no reason windows should fail to boot into normal mode just because of lack of a proper manufacturer-provided display adapter driver
you can try to use the F8 boot menu to force VGA mode, and then try windows updates. or safe mode + networking
alternatively, what update is it saying you require, before you can install the manufacturer specific video driver? |
