Hey everyone. Winters done and we are all getting ready to put our whips on the road.
So question here is which company in Edmonton can I trust to install a turbo kit? No I don't want to hear my car sux or my turbo kit sux. Yes I know my engine needs to be built(it is). Just wondering which companies are competent enough to do the install as I am not. I've only heard the worst reviews for local tuner shops on these boards so I will probably have a tuner flying in to do the tune.
Car: 98 Civic
Engine: B18C1
Turbo: GT30R
Kit: Synapse Top Mount Tial V Band

Thanks for the replies. I've never heard of project omega. I will have to look into it. You know I wish I could do it myself. For all the money I've spent so far I'd hate to wreck something. What are the going rates for a full kit install?
About Lightspeed innovations...
How is their track record for tuning? What is the tuner's name? Do they specialize in Honda? I'm looking to make around 500 WHP on a reliable tune. I know some elite tuner's from the states so they are my back-up plan. They've tuned many 500-600WHP civics that have been running for a few years without a hiccup. That's the level of tuning I'm hoping to find. Safe/Reliable/Lasting/Power. I appreciate all the help in this thread so far, and hope to hear more about Lightspeed Innovations and Project Omega.
Thanks to everyone offering that I could find someone to help do this in a garage. Problems are I don't really know anyone in the tuner community. People will say they can do it, but how do I know who's competent and who isn't. Who can I trust? I have very few tools. |

thats a sexy turbo kit. sorry i cant help you out more with who to go to in edmonton. i suggest buying some hand tools and doing it yourself as well. as far as the tuning goes, you will be hard pressed to find someone that knows what they are doing with honda's in edmo. the more you learn to do yourself, the less you have to rely on people that might not know what they are doing. flying in a tuner is great, but what if you have problems down the road? who will you turn too? just some food for thought.
good luck and lets see some pics of this beast when you get it together:thumbup: |

To be hounest i have never put alot of time in to a Honda. Installing and dialing in a turbo kit are my bread and butter. I have the knowledge and resorces to help you out. i stand behind my work 100% and am VERY pick on the way i do things. I can ashure you no little deitail will be over looked. I have access to a tone of tools. and fabercation equment if need be.
I was a owner of a well known performance for 3 years. I was dyno tuning and installing some really neet stuff. when Myself and anther owner left the shop went to otter crap. People on these forums can back that up.
Some of the stuff i have worked on.

the best thing you can do is learn to do it yourself, or find a local person you trust who knows what they are doing. I have done all the work on my honda build, do all the tuning, and have run 400-420whp as my summer daily driver on pump gas. It is still running the same comp numbers as the day I built it, and is already up to 36000 km with no real issues (maintenance items, and a warranty return on my turbo).
Of course it is a built motor, but do it right, and you can expect a great deal of longevity.

I don't plan on daily driving. Maybe once a week. Going to tune on pump gas. Plan on using whatever tuner is comfortable with. So far leaning towards the s300. |

| Lightspeed has lots of tuning experience over 10years and tons of Hondas the tuners name is Cam. He focuses on safe tunes reliable tunes not so much pushing the car to its absolute limits. |
