AudiInProgress
Not me...

ChromeDragon
Yes you are ... nerd.

Drave
I'll be there. :P

SilverNeonRacer
I'm most likely not going. I have the old dates booked off, but since they changed the dates I can't get the new dates off... grrr

Oh well wife doesn't really want to go this year anyhow... I wonder if I can get a day pass for just Sat at a reduced cost so i can sit there and just leach files. :P

Rob's wife actually popped by last year and thanked me for having my file server there :P heh

Turb0.ed.v6
I REALLY want to go.. but that means I gotta upgrade my system. I havent pc gamed in a long time but only because I dont have money to drop on a new pc.

I've seen alot worse at frag. Shoot I game on a Dell Inspiron 9300 1GB ra, 6800Go, Pentium M 2ghz or somethin...

My file server is a better gaming rig than my laptop (3800+ x2, 2GB, X1850XT, 3TB HDD, etc)

LOL heh never saw anybody with a standard Dell Desktop, but I spend most my time leaching and running errands for my group(most of us out of towners, I know Edmonton the best)

Heh atleast my 9300 was tweaked to the same year XPS specs, just without the fancy chassis.

btw an inspiron 9200 is a laptop :P a guy is giving me one for shits and giggles, he doesn't use it anymore.. I'm hoping the scavange the ram, he up'd to 2GB.

Turb0.ed.v6
Haha dude do I look like the kinda guy that knows my dells? lol I just threw up random numbers.

I think I may volunteer this year for fraga if I am to attend, it would be fun and it would be nice to have a reason to take a break from the constant fragging.

kevito_
I'll be there if I get days off in time :D

Therin
Its about the skill, not the rig.

CS 1.6 FTW!

Perilous_Enterprises
What games?

You think your pc suks, I got a Dell Dimension 9150, but I'd enter it.

haha, depends on the game. Playing Q2 on a TNT2 had a decisive advantage over any 3dfx hardware back in the day. In FPS framerate is life. The more information you can give to your eyes, the better. There were really good players that could kick ass with shit hardware, but they never were the best... only those that upgraded hit that mark =)

I've seen so many good gamers turn excellent just by a hardware upgrade.

Therin
any links or anything for this Fraga 08? its been awhile since i've pwned some ass in a lan tourney.

I went to this like 3 years ago.. Wasn't bad..

I'm not as dirty as most the guys though. I couldn't go 4 days with no shower or sleep. I got a hotel room there.

Best part is that Bawlz shit.. Man that stuff is good.

AudiInProgress
Bawlz is fantastic. The event is always a huge success. I've been going for years. 2 years ago I won the main competition there... They've always treated me and my clan really well. I'm not the founder by the way... When I say "my clan" I mean the one I am part of... We also don't consider ourselves a "clan" so to speak... Just a bunch of friends who get together to game.

Also, the people who don't shower or sleep for 4 days, are probably going to refuse to shower or sleep outside of the event too... There's just some people who don't care. Oh well... That's why sitting in a group of 30 friends is of benefit... You know eachothers bathing habits... And if somebody in the group stinks, people will tell you. Whereas with a complete strange you might hesitate to say anything.

Graphicdude
SO explain what goes on in this? You have groups of people who play video games or something? Is it like RPG stuff?

SilverNeonRacer
Well Fraga is about 500-800 people sitting in a massive area gaming their faces off, most are FPSish games, like WOW, CounterStrike, Quake, UT, battlefield, etc... some play excitebike(sp?), generally people play whatever they want, find some other people to play with or against and frag the hours away.

A clan is a group of people, either friends or quazi-friends who are part of a gaming club of sorts, they typically play the same games so they can do raids or competitions etc. Some clans are less formal, they are a group of online or irl friends who play games, but use the clan as a means of staying in touch.

You're forgetting Armagetron and Flatout2!

Lots and lots and lots of different genre of game are played. There's also lots of file leeching going on. And tons of fun contests as well. You don't have to be good at gaming to win something. And every year that I've gone, I've walked away with something... Whether it's a bunch of brand new t-shirts, or free software, or hardware. What you pay for entrance to the 4-day event is well worth it.

The wall-hang event is always lots of fun to watch, I'm not sure if there's any place to hang off the walls at the new venue this year?! Oh noes...

See who can throw a paper airplane the farthest...
Who can balance on 1 foot the longest?
Paper-rock-scissors contest...
Dodgeball.

All kinds of really fun silly shit.

I spent all last frag leaching files, sharing files and watching movies... didn't play a game once.. paid for 2 spots(file server and laptop) and didn't even use the laptop :P
