does anyone here know if a honda dealer will charge to retrieve a oem honda radio code?

Last time I went to Alberta Honda, they didn't.

I had bought used civic and for some reason, I have disconnected the battery. I brought the car into Alberta Honda and the service tech gave me the code to input.
