so over the weekend i have taken my ka24e apart resealed the head cleaned and polished everything snaped it back on and hmmm had difficulty starting it once i got it fired up car run like its about to die rpms up and down and not passed 1000 rpm shaking once wormed up got a bit better took ity around the corner and power just leaking so i figure timing must be off by a bit. what is the best way to adjust timing does everything on front cover needs to be removed and fluids drained and both sprockets facing 12 o'clock

ummmmmm.....mabe u got the sprocket in the wrong position did u follow your manual?

the cam gear must be set a a certain degree at TDC cylinder#1 when u put it back together, other wise the timings way the f@ck out of wack... :wacko:
wait till 1mns13 posts , hell can usually predict the problem, and what the setting should be

| where are you 1mns13 ???j/j so i don't need to take the whole timing chain cover off just set cam to a certain position while 1 cylinder is in compression stroke? yah wouldn't doubt if timing is out of wack when i gas it feels like i have 65 hp not even... :wacko: |

| Dennis, you've my phone number. Just call, it's quicker. Mark is right about cam to crank timing, it may be off. I have the FSM if you need it. I have a timing gun at the moment to check ignition timing. |
