Alright folks. We can't run an actual pool, but I figure we should throw out some picks here just to make it a little more entertaining. This format comes from a friend at work who has been running this pool for quite a few years. Lots of fun!
Each person pick one winner from each series and the number of games you expect them to win the series in. You get one point for picking the right team and another point if you pick the correct number of games. The Stanley Cup final will be worth double points. A tie-breaker may be needed, so you need to choose what teams you think will be in the final before the playoffs start. This is completely separate from the regular picks and will only be used to break ties, you will still choose normally for the Cup round when it arrives.
Example.
OTT vs. PIT - Penguins in 7
So give us a list of all 8 picks for the first round. Matchups are:

All of your picks must be in before the puck drops in the first game of each playoff round. If your posts are edited after that time then you will forfeit points from that round. That means the deadline for your first picks will be 5 p.m. Wed. April 9, for the first round. You can change your picks right up until the deadline.
This thread will only be for posting picks, I'll create a separate discussion thread. I'll post my picks right after this so you know what is needed before puck drop on Wednesday.
This is posted for the hockey fans out there. If you don't like hockey then please stay out of the thread.

By no means is anyone anywhere near out of this thing. There are still 16 points available in the last three rounds here, so things could be completely different by the time the cup rolls around (8 points this round, 4 points in the conference finals and 4 points in the cup final because of double points).
Last year at this point I had 11 out of a possible 16 points, led right up until the cup and still ended up in third place after the final. The picks were obviously much harder this year; even in my friend's pool at work with twice as many people the leader only has 9 points.
