Who votes we change it? I have seen countless members say change it, it sounds bad and the same thing was said from the start.
Just a poll to see who is in favour of a change. Once there are enough votes we can come up with some new names and vote on those if it comes to that. |

| changing the name would be retarded right now. for one, we just got decals printed a bit ago which i have like 30 left, it took us forever to redesign the logo, and a few sask guys are still active. if we did change the name we would still have to include the prairie provinces, and not make it a edmonton exclusive club. preludes are getting old, and the more ground we can cover the better. all prelude clubs in canada suffered a member loss due to the popularity of the prelude dieing. everyone is hopping in rsx's and newer vehicles. lots of people jumped onto the JDM bandwagon too. hence why NECC is doing so well. In all honesty the name isn't anything besides that. a name. if someone with a prelude was interested in joining i doubt they would turn away just because of the clubs name. The problem we are having isn't due to the name, its due to exposure and getting the word out. for instance a good one would to cruise through high school parking lots and tag ludes. i bet at least 50% of them would join haha. We would also need to go through name selection again. and at the time we couldn't think of anything better. i doubt it would be any different this time around. if everyone really wants to change the name we could throw it up for discussion at a boston pizza meet or something and talk it over. but it is a lot of work. |

Tyler no offense, but i have talked to over 10 people with preludes in parking lots, school, etc. No what it came down to when i told them to join "Prairie Ludes"? They laughed, said it sounded like prairie dogs, would tell me they would never put that logo on their prelude and then would tell me thanks for the offer. It's not like i am just trying to be an ass with this poll.
Also, today i started talking to a ton of people on my msn, and at work about the name. I said what do you think of when you hear Prairie ludes? Everyone....said prairie dogs. I then asked them what they thought it was if they did not already know. They had no clue. The name doesn't give people enough idea what we are. We abreviated Prelude to ludes which just makes it that much more isolated. I am not recommending it be EPC, i am recommending we change it to something that is clear.
As for you 30 decals. I'll get 100 for free and i'll have scotts sign shop design better ones for free, if it is that big of a concern. |

I am with Tyler on this. We just got the domain name renewed, I still have lots of decals too and we couldn't come up with anything else last time so why?

hmmm...changing the name is something I really don't want to do right now, but if the majority of the club feels we should change it, I can't ignore that. If we did it we would have to do it right this time. Im talking decals, business cards, clothing, etc all at the same time, all in the beginning. we would need a designer (hopefully ryan, unless someone else steps in) to redesign the logo and put together a business card, and a flyer. something we could drop a handfull off at a honda dealership/ shops around town. i might even appoint someone to deal with local shops on the clubs behalf, as doing everything can get overwhelming.
The biggest part of all of this is deciding a name. We need a name that will stick, that will be permanent, not sound dorky, and that will attract members. we need to include the prairie provinces. it cannot be a alberta club just due to the fact we already expanded, and even if not active, the sask members are still around. We can't simply cut them off. once we get a list of possible names i ill make a official poll and we can vote. we should also have a meet that we can discuss this whole issue. i would expect everyone to show up that wants a say on the name/ future club events and meets.
I can't believe we are going through this again....lol. If we do go through with this though, it needs to be done right. |

Other than that, I was thinking of going with something a little more hip, like Pr-eh-lude club of canada, or Preludez4lifez... and I think Preludosaurus had already been mentioned somewhere. Another original would be United Prelude... or extend it to United prelude of canada (UPOC), or Preludes of Edmonton and Everywhere Else (PEEE), Preludes eat rotaries for every cup of tea (PERFECT), Roads Attest to Preludes Expeditivity (RAPE)... I've got more if you want. |

i thought about it and i think WCP is a good name. Western Canadian Preludes. Instead of WCPC, Western Canadian Prelude Club, we simply drop the club. Club is not really needed imo and it makes it a little more simple for making decals and designs since we don't need to include a whole other word.
WCP gets the idea out there. It states that we are a western canadian prelude club (yes i know i technically just said WCPC but it was needed for this context lol) rather than just the prairie provinces (prairie implies that BC is not part of the territory) and like i said before, it is easier to make a decal/logo.
Lets get a couple more and then make a poll. Oh and i vote we put this in the general auto section for the voting because it is not just about what we think, it is what the general public thinks about the club name. If the general public likes the name then more people who are not members will be willing to join :thumbup: |

yes the crazy calgary girl had the wcp website, but she had more fake accounts then actual members. that site is long gone. just checked there site and their last posts were last year. the name could be a option, but i would prefer if we didn't use a name that already failed lol.

We could do something with the longitude/latitude lines which define Alberta, Sask, BC and even Manitoba if we want... I looked at a rough map and it would be something like 120-100 longitude. Something different, and probably extremely inconvenient. Just a though...
