engine problem - Click HERE for Original Thread

well heres the story. i moved my car a short distance then shut her off. so first thing that came to mind when she wouldent start was that the engine was flooded.

thing is after doing the engine unflooding procedures quite a few times, now the engine starts but once i turn on any electronics (ie. head lights) or shift into gear, the engine rpms drop real low, then spudder and then dies all together. and once in a while i get some exhaust popping backfire action.

ne ideas what the problem is?? also during all the when i start the car the rpm needle jumps a bit then stays at 0 the rest of the time.

you should check your grounds sounds like one is loose or diconnected

Try and check the charge if you can get the car started and idling for a bit. With a voltmeter, it should read between 13.2-14.8, sometimes lower. Sounds like it could be your alternator if you're putting a load on like the headlights and it starts to sputter. It's an easy fix and cheaper than an engine rebuild.
